@NHLRumourReport This seems like a no brainer. If I'm Tuch's agent and he's the most coveted UFA there is no way I let my client sign anywhere until I see what the offers are on July 1.

@njdlauren Tate McRae looks exactly like a North Shore Long Islander in 1986. Give her some high top reeboks, some scrunched socks, an oversized designer sweatshirt and some obsession perfume. You'd swear she's from Dix Hills or Great Neck.

@benchrates Mrtka alone isn't getting you anything. So he's the "obvious candidate" for being the minor part of a major deal. The guys you want to keep are the guys everyone wants.

Radim Mrtka is the most obvious candidate Konsta Helenius and Noah Ostlund played at a $5.2m level with a limited TOI (including 0:00 PP TOI/GP for Helenius and 1:20 for Ostlund), and it was the rookie season. The expectations are high, and I wouldn't trade them now And it would be better to stick with Jiri Kulich too. If he had stayed healthy and played during the team's turnaround, his numbers would have been better #LetsGoBuffalo #Sabrehood

If the Sabres are going to make a big move this offseason it’s almost certainly going to include at least one of these players: - Konsta Helenius - Noah Ostlund - Jiri Kulich - Radim Mrtka Rank them in order of most open to trading to absolutely not moving them.

@WGR550 What are the WGR guys always looking at - up in the right corner? Every time one guy is speaking the other guy is staring up at a monitor (I'm guessing). Are they reading live tweets instead of paying attention to their co-host? It's so distracting.

Bulldog suggests Kekäläinen's tone implies Alex Tuch may have to forgo money to remain with the Sabres, facing different market pressures than Byram and Benson. #Sabres #BuffaloSabres #NHL

@MatthewFairburn Any chance one of those new staff additions Jarmo talked about is Shane Doan?

Carolina swept Philly on may 9th. Game 1 of the eastern conference finals will be may 21st. Is 12 days off between series the longest break for a team in playoff history ?

@ByMHarrington If we find out Tage has an upper body injury the obvious question would be-Why is he taking (and losing) faceoffs and why is he in the shooting position on PP1? I use the word obvious because every player in the league says obviously multiple times when interviewed.

@AfterLeWhistle The Sabres are out of gas. Understandable. They overplayed the 4 D in the regular season and most of the forwards have never been this far. The bad part is the rollover. Your tank can be empty but that doesn't mean you quit. I thought the captain quit tonight and many followed.

How many players this series would you say have played well for the Sabres? Benson, Doan, Samuelsson, and Power? Am I forgetting anyone? If they lose, it’s pretty easy to see why. That list needs to be much longer against a team as talented as the Canadiens.

@MatthewFairburn I thought Montreal started to lose some of their energy. Forwards weren't back-checking with the same enthusiasm. Dare I say the long series with Tampa might finally be catching up to them?

Timmins was also very good tonight. I know a lot of people wanted him out of the lineup. Helenius was obviously also phenomenal for his first playoff game. He’s a player.

@pham1717 It's not like the Sabres are outliers by using Schenn. Colorado has 41 year old Burns. Minnesota has Bogosian. I guess Sabre fans are so used to not watching playoffs they don't realize all the good teams use broken down aged defenseman that know how to play in big games

Every year, everyone says "Who's Ed Ronan"? Here he is. He won a Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1993 and signed with the #Sabres as a free agent in the 1996-1997 season, primarily playing in Rochester. #LetsGoBuffalo

On this day in 1997 (May 9, 1997), "Eddie Ronan coming off the bench sails in and drills it home" in OVERTIME to keep the #Sabres alive in their 1997 Eastern Conference SemiFinals series against the #Flyers. #LetsGoBuffalo
