We're currently working on a study with Dwight Houweling @polymtl to better understand how municipal wastewater treatment plants evaluate the acceptance of landfill leachate.
This is an area where decisions are being made every day, but there is very little structured data on what actually drives those decisions, and what thresholds matter, what risks are tolerable, and what conditions shift leachate from unacceptable to acceptable for wastewater treatment plants.
This first phase of our study is a short, anonymous survey (5–8 minutes) aimed at WWTP managers, process engineers, process technologists and operators involved in process monitoring or engineering decisions. The goal is to ground the work in real operational insight and build toward a more rigorous analysis of trade-offs.

POV: A guy with ChatGPT and Google AlphaFold just built a custom mRNA cancer vaccine to save his dog.
this story is actually insane.
a tech guy in australia adopted a rescue dog with aggressive cancer and only months to live.
so he did something wild:
> paid ~$3k to sequence the tumor dna
> used chatgpt to analyze the mutations
> used google’s alphafold to model the proteins
> identified drug targets and designed a custom mRNA cancer vaccine
he had zero background in biology.
after months of paperwork, the vaccine was approved and injected.
within weeks the tumor shrank dramatically and the dog started recovering.
meanwhile pharma companies are running $1B trials to do the exact same thing.
the future of personalized medicine with AI is going to be insane.

Rules of thumb when reviewing Massie votes:
1) make sure he’s voting on what you think he’s voting on
2) if he doesn’t vote w/ the party the bill has provisions that take away your rights.
3) if he’s the lone “No” vote take notice. Something in the bill is REALLY bad.
