PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA RECEIVES BRIEFING FROM MADAGASCAR President @CyrilRamaphosa hosted Colonel Michael Randrianirina President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar for a briefing at Mahlamba Ndlopfu, the Official Residence in Pretoria. Colonel Randrianirina briefed President Ramaphosa on the steps being taken towards a peaceful transitional process, which includes a national dialogue amongst all the people of Madagascar. President Ramaphosa welcomed the briefing and in line with the decision of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), took the opportunity to reiterate the need to support Madagascar’s transition to constitutional democracy with an inclusive national dialogue that will lead to elections as soon as possible. 🤯🚨 Here’s a couple of stories I saw just from the morning papers that made me sit up: National Treasury now hiring consultants to try to fix 96 municipalities in financial crisis! Municipalities owe Eskom R120 billion! Another R95 billion in more bailouts for Transnet! ✅ Cape Town stands out head and shoulders above stories like this. This city is one of the only places in South Africa where public money is actually used for what it is intended - for building a better society, for improving living standards, and for preparing for the future. We’re also increasingly having to take on essential functions of other levels of government, like policing. We are proud that here, in Cape Town, the public can know that their city works because of this determination to be the most functional and successful place in the country 🇿🇦

They remained silent about VAT until it suited their limited political agenda. ActionSA, intervened at the last minute, participated in budget talks with no ulterior intentions, and identified over R100 billion in alternative revenue proposals. We won't stop until the VAT increase is removed before the 1st of May or as soon as possible thereafter.
