UNICEF is deeply concerned about a recent decree issued by Afghanistan’s de facto authorities. Any law that contains provisions that appear to permit child marriage or interpret a girl's silence as consent is unacceptable.

In 📍Njombe, work and childcare share space. @UNICEFTanzania and @CEOrtTZ visited a market-based ECD centre supporting working parents. Children learn, play, and are cared for safely during the day. A simple way to bring childcare closer to working parents. #ForEveryChild

Children in Sudan are trapped in a crisis of violence, hunger & disease. Children suffering from severe acute malnutrition arrive at overstretched facilities too weak to cry. Unicef is on the ground responding. But more action is needed to save lives.👇 unicef.org/press-releases…

Health harms associated with plastic food packaging are well known. Although plastic packaging is not exclusive to UPFs, it is used more extensively in these products, and its adverse health impacts are likely more relevant for them. Learn why here: foodnavigator.com/Article/2026/0…

As Co-Chair of the @SUN_Movement Executive Committee, today at the Tanzania Development Partners Group on Nutrition Meeting I highlighted need for sustainable nutrition financing through social safety nets like #TASAF, a proposal I initiated as an MP 🇹🇿 in 2021 that later materialised in 2024 through the UNICEF-TASAF Stawisha Project; alongside health levies, smarter nutrition spending, food safety be under Health, and stronger accountability on global commitments. As we advance SUN 4.0, I remain committed to supporting innovative, country-led nutrition financing solutions across SUN countries. Special thanks to @PatrickCodjia, Chief Nutritionist @UNICEFTanzania for the recognition and invitation. 🗓️ 12/5/2026 📍#Dar 🇹🇿 #NutritionFinancing 🌍 #DPGNutrition
