I feel like LLM Providers should be legally obliged to publish when safety prompts change- with date and timestamps. I'm getting an LLM insisting it has never done something I've been doing with it for years. LLMs will not be reliable infrastructure without transparency.

🇨🇳 China just released footage of their robot wolves running simulated street battles with micro-missiles and grenade launchers. Black Mirror called, they want their props back.

I don’t want to put anyone on blast- but you have another thread going with someone who’s making the ‘no expectation of privacy’ argument. I think your take is right- this is unreasonable search and seizure, (assuming location data of constituents has value). That is exactly the kind of redditor logic we get at the local level. It makes our lives a local hell.

@hackerfantastic Local governments seem have evolved into an employment program for lunatics. The only people who seem to have time for it are consistently petty tyrants. They don’t seem to care about the constitution- unless it somehow leads to federal grants.

The American people are witnessing a full blown breakdown in the Senate. We have a piece of overwhelmingly popular legislation that still can’t get passed thru. This entire ordeal has exposed the failures of our system to truly represent the voters. It’s all so corrupt.

The Arch Linux Core Dev Team is asking r/ArchLinux sub-reddit mods to censor people unhappy with Age Verification in Arch. It appears that Arch Linux considers criticism of Age Verification to be a "Code of Conduct" violation. From an r/ArchLinux moderator responding to a censored user: "I got a DM from much higher up the chain asking me to remove it. Whilst I technically don't answer to them, I do respect their wishes. They don't like someone they consider as part of the core dev teams being called out like that. What you did broke the Arch Linux CoC."

No voter ID, especially when combined with mail-in ballots, means the system is engineered to make fraud impossible to prove. Everyone knows that you can barely get through your week without showing ID for the most banal activities, like shopping at Costco. The only reason to ban ID is to hide massive voter fraud.
Katie Miller@KatieMiller

The reality is there's mass amounts of cheating in our elections. Just because there's an engineered lack of data, does not mean there isn't data to the contrary. The new CBS/YouGov poll shows that 80% of Americans support Voter ID including 80% of black Americans & 77% of Hispanic Americans. Yet why is it that Congress seems so intractable to wanting to pass a such a popular policy?

This feeling deserves a name! I’ve think I’ve felt the same experience. For me, It continues to happen after prompt library improvements compound- e.g. I get a really big build working and 3 hours later I have a working PoC, test harnesses documentation and backups. I do manual inspection- and everything looks right and auditably works right. Then I contemplate how long it would have taken to get to that phase of deployment at BigCo and my legs get wobbly. “Wait, what does this mean?”

Apple’s spatial photo effects are nostalgic crack for parents. My affection for my iPhoto albums is unparalleled by any other software. Seeing my now teenaged kids as babies in 3d is precious in ways I cannot articulate.
