Nah, weapons aren’t actually the issue. Practically every man and boy in England carried, at the very least, a pocket knife with them at all times for hundreds of years, and there was no epidemic of stabbing. Our issue is the breakdown of social order. That can only really be resolved with a unifying common purpose, which historically was provided by Christianity, which also provided the explicit moral framework for not going around stabbing people.

100% In a similar vein, I saw a study in the last few days that showed that drivers who killed pedestrians got a sentence 50% higher on average if the pedestrian was female. Women have so internalised the feminist narrative of oppression and resentment that they completely fail to see that they are in fact extremely protected and privileged in pretty much every area of life…

It is my belief that had this been a female police officer they would have served a custodial sentence. I met a couple of ex female police officers that served a custodial sentence for far less. Same as female prison officers. Met many of those that had abused their position and ended up with a custodial sentence. Where as I witnessed male prison officers abusing their positions, and having sexual relationships with female prisoners. At worst they were moved to the male side of the prison. I think women are held to higher account than men. Oh she’s a woman, a mum, a wife. She should know better. That said anyone abusing any position of power in public office should absolutely serve a custodial sentence. Police officers have one of the most trusted jobs in the world and it should be a given that the public can indeed trust them and rely on them. Sadly this is not the case.

⛔️⛔️⛔️ Inspector Lee Bartram of West Midlands Police convicted of child sexual offences. He admitted making and distributing more than 450 indecent images of children. He was also taking images of children while he was on duty. 16 month suspended sentence. Make it make sense ‼️

No, it really isn’t. What the bluehair activists mean by ‘conversion therapy’ is anything other than positive affirmation, particularly in the case of young people who believe they may be trans. The correct thing to do with those young people is to explain to them that the reality is they cannot change their sex, and attempting to do so is likely to lead to a worse outcome for them - which is currently illegal for any teacher, therapist or medical professional to do..

@astor_charlie They’ve declared war on everyone who isn’t behind their grand design for a reimagined society built on the politics of resentment, envy and cruelty. They know not what they’ve done. Yet.

The Western world burns over St Georgie Floyd? Yet total ambivalence over this student's murder. Where's his riots? These people are the enemy. All of them. Anyone who continues to make excuses for diversity. Anyone who clamps down on the free speech of the people who protest. Anyone who makes this intolerable fiasco go on a second longer!

@thepalehundreds So the men of France waved the white flag and after they were liberated they took it out on their women for probably doing what they had to in order to survive? France really is full of weak slop isn't it...

Leftism is a mental illness. There are historical and anthropological records describing: sexual coercion, forced marriages, captive-taking, wartime sexual violence, punishments for rape (which itself implies the behaviour existed), among various pre-contact societies in the Americas. But who needs facts when you've got an ideology to push?

I had such a strong gut reaction to Helen Webberley last night. I simply don’t believe her. She’s insincere, disingenuous. Downright malign. I meet trans activists ALL THE TIME. This felt different.

@KingBobIIV My suspicion is that most of the genuine rapes don’t get reported, and most of the reports are false allegations. What a mess!

Night thoughts on “polytropos”, 2: 1/2: Polytropos is an *extremely* rare word in Greek, occurring only a handful of times in extant Gk lit: 2x in #Odyssey (vs 60+ for “polymetis”, “of great cunning”), a couple of times in Thucydides (the “shifting” fortunes of war), & Plutarch.

@AllisonPearson The irony of millionaire T'graph columnists screaming “authoritarianism” while defending rallies full of anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and calls to dissolve Parliament is quite something. Apparently “free speech” now means freedom from criticism when u stand beside extremists.

You are a far left agitator and authoritarian, Starmer. You have no idea about British values which include FREE SPEECH (ring any bells?) and patriotism. You’d rather persecute old soldiers, cancel jury trials and impose Digital ID. Your pathetic premiership is on Death Row.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

@DawnSunrise1 @EvaVlaar @philrickards Oh don’t worry - they’re scheming hard to make it come true. Likely through paid agitators infiltrating the protest and starting trouble, so they can say they were right all along. It’s the Jan 6 methodology transplanted to the UK..

Wow, @Keir_Starmer just added insult to injury. Now he’s claiming that the people he banned are seeking to stir up “hatred which manifests as violence”. Hence, he’s now officially accusing us of wanting to incite violence. I will not stand for this.

It’s one hell of a reach. And on the basis of those few words, the entire PSNI, including thousands of female staff, have been branded ‘institutionally misogynist’. All I see is a senior cop warning detectives to stay evidence-focused and not make assumptions. The ‘bad boy’ thing is common usage and clearly not intended to minimise the criminals behaviour - on the contrary, it’s a shorthand that everyone recognised as meaning he’s a total piece of shit. I have basically zero sympathy for the PSNI. In fact. I detest them deeply - they make the notorious Met police force look like innocent schoolboys by comparison. But this is just hyper-politicised bullshit from start to finish.
