I didn't sleep properly last night because I was ruminating on why it is important for leaders to be readers. This is after watching a leader who is bold, but from the podcast, one can deduce that she needs to read and understand political history. It's dangerous to see a person who is bold and ignorant leading and influencing masses. Leaders must read. This is why I am always in awe of women and men who were involved in the struggles for Black people's emancipation, whether in Africa, the Caribbean, or greater parts of the Diaspora. If you watch their interviews or read their essays, you can tell that they surpass this generation in thought leadership. They articulated political and economic issues well. They understood both economic and political history extremely well, hence they could situate their struggles in the broader global struggle. They knew what they were fighting for and against which systems. They were well versed in what was happening across the globe: struggles fought in different parts, whether Algeria, Haiti, Palestine, India, China, Vietnam, etc. They did this without the privilege of having information at their fingertips. We, on the other hand, have access to entire libraries, archives, and global perspectives in seconds. Yet many of us remain uninformed. We must learn from them. And Leaders are Readers bakithi.

From 2027, Zimbabwe will require every school without exception to register its learners for ZIMSEC examinations. The era of parallel foreign examination systems operating outside our national framework is over. It's mandatory for all students to write ZIMSEC. However, schools wishing to offer both ZIMSEC and Cambridge should apply for permission to do so provided there is justification for it. This is not an attack on academic excellence. We are not banning Cambridge examinations .This is an assertion of national sovereignty over our own Education System. Zimbabwe's children deserve to be assessed on a common, uniform standard one that this government controls, benchmarks, and continuously improves. For too long, a two-tier system has told some children that their futures are validated in Cambridge and told others that ZIMSEC is somehow second best. That ends now. Private institutions operating on Zimbabwean soil have a clear directive: align with the national framework. This is not negotiable. Government policy is unambiguous comply or fall out of step with the direction this Republic is moving. We are building one education system. One standard. One Zimbabwe. Every child regardless of the school they attend or the uniform they wear deserves equal recognition under a national framework that belongs to all of us.All School Kids are the same.

@DannythatGuy @Azor_Jani The concept of a recommended fare works on the premise that it is the point at which the operator is now making a profit, albeit under perfect conditions. From that point on, the law of demand and supply kicks in. It becomes a negotiation, for which the platform provides tools

@TembaMliswa 'ZANU PF as a party remains the only viable instrument for assumption of power' This is not true, and ED himself, a product of a military coup, is an example of that. He did not outwit Mugabe politically by mobilising within the party. Mugabe was deposed by the army.

Having commented on VP Chiwenga's Hezekiah video, it's strange how criticising President Mnangagwa can be palatable and even accepted, and yet the same for Vice President Chiwenga is deemed kufarisa? Politics hadzisi dzekutyisidzirana and an unwarranted attack on the President is an attack on the nation! We can't allow that. The VP has literally been undermining both his superior and the party he belongs to, and he should be called out for it. I must reiterate my stance: defending the President against such insidious acts is a matter of principle. Were the tables turned and VP Chiwenga were the one in the presidency, I would equally spring to his defence against any similar subversive actions. There are platforms and ways of venting one's grievances at that level instead of grandstanding. If left unchecked, his current manoeuvres could sow dangerous seeds of discontent that could destabilise the party in the future. Politically, while social media has clapped hands for him, ED has managed to remain calm and diplomatic, focusing on the angles and areas that matter. That’s political nous, which the VP is betraying himself as lacking. It’s no wonder that the very base upon which the VP could have built upon to engineer his way to power one day has been slowly but effectively decimated, even as his social media gravitas appears to be flaring up. It’s because he is focusing on the wrong political constituency! It's almost like a reincarnation of Chamisa, all words, verses and social media coronations, and yet structurally vulnerable as to be impotent politically! ZANU PF as a party remains the only viable instrument for assumption of power, and yet his actions, undermining the very same party, are an act of self-condemnation.  The party is the water to the fish that he is, and his actions amount to thrashing all the water out. You can’t speak and act to please the opposition constituency and yet hope to ride to power on the back of internal support. Even more damning today, he is effectively operating within a controlled environment despite the veneer of potency which his words attempt to convey. Some have dared ZANU-PF to fire him, and yet that would be a mistake in that he will now be operating outside a controlled context. Many in the party also have aspirations for the top seat, yet they never recklessly throw around their military or liberation war weight as an entitlement to the seat. A genius politician simply builds a support base, canvassing for support in the normal and recognised way, without undermining his superior and destabilising the whole party.

🔸What legitimate business are you involved in? Please explain? Did your company exhibit at the Trade Fair? Please share pics of your stand? We need new leaders.🇿🇼
sir_wicknell.@wicknellchivayo

BITTERNESS OVERSHADOWS BUSINESS… Ordinarily, when a Mayor of the SECOND LARGEST City in Zimbabwe that hosts the ZITF speaks on matters related to the trade fair, one would reasonably assume that he possesses FULL KNOWLEDGE of its purpose, INTENT and significance. Regrettably, when I read Mayor Coltart’s NAUSEATING and MISCHIEVOUS post, I then understood why the opposition-run Bulawayo City Council has DISMALLY FAILED to provide the most BASIC services such as clean water for its own long-suffering residents. I would have ordinarily IGNORED your disingenuous comments, but for what it is worth, allow me “YOUR WORSHIP @davidcoltart to CORRECT you and give you the hard FACTS, from which you may learn a thing or two. It is a matter of PUBLIC RECORD that H.E. President E.D. Mnangagwa, is a very METHODICAL, STRATEGIC and VISIONARY leader who DELIBERATELY selects the individuals he includes in his engagements. He is a LISTENING President who is OPEN to everyone, and more importantly, he is a President who DELIVERS economic transformation. It is ENTIRELY His Excellency’s decision and prerogative to include in his entourage whomsoever he deems fit, based on the VALUE and CONTRIBUTION they bring to any given occasion. I am a BUSINESSMAN and PHILANTHROPIST with vast interests in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and across the African continent, and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING amiss, inexplicable or even DISRESPECTFUL for the 2 Presidents to be accompanied by a BUSINESSMAN at a BUSINESS trade fair !!!! What is instead alarming is that you find the TIME and ENERGY to craft mischievous and MISLEADING social media posts about the presence of a businessman touring exhibition stands with the 2 Presidents, yet under your watch, the people of Bulawayo have gone for YEARS without the most BASIC SERVICE DELIVERY that any self-respecting municipality owes its residents. As the opposition, you specialize with majoring in the MINOR …..while you FAIL DISMALLY on your KEY RESULT AREAS. Rather than venting your EMPTY and BITTER frustrations on social media in a desperate bid for ATTENTION and VALIDATION, Your Worship, I would strongly urge you to redirect that same energy towards MEANINGFUL DEVELOPMENT for the people of Bulawayo I need not remind you that at such events, the Presidium CUSTOMARILY and DELIBERATELY splits into MULTIPLE GROUPS to ensure that as many exhibition stands as possible are toured. The President tours certain stands accompanied by MINISTERS, BUSINESSMEN, FOREIGN DELEGATES and other dignitaries. The FIRST LADY separately tours exhibitions aligned to her own areas of interest and passion while the two Vice Presidents EACH separately tour their own designated exhibition stands. As a successful businessman of INTERNATIONAL REPUTE, my presence should NEVER lead one to assume anything UNUSUAL. Do NOT confuse your BITTERNESS with BUSINESS Your Worship. Our role as a BUSINESSMEN is to SUPPORT the socioeconomic development of our Nation and to CREATE meaningful synergies between the private sector and the public sector, towards achieving the UPPER MIDDLE INCOME ECONOMY status by 2030. Contrary to your purely racist SENSATIONAL claims which are typical of the opposition, ZITF 2026 was a RESOUNDING SUCCESS and a declaration to the world that ZIMBABWE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS. PLEASE BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY !!! #Vision_2030 #ZITF_2026 #EDHuchi 🐊🦁✊🏽🇿🇼 #Zimbabwe_Is_Open_For_Business #EDelivers #Second_Republic #EDHuchi 🐊🐊🐊✊🏽

This is as brazen an attack on the President as one can ever give and coming from his own Deputy its shocking. For one so close to the President to resort to this is diplomatically gross and strategically poor. The VP is now seriously endangering his standing by pandering to the whims of social media and the opposition by indulging in content creation. The subject matter which he poorly dresses in Biblical frocks instead of explicitly stating his opposition to CAB3, as any serious politician would do, shows his level of frustration. Politically the man has been outmanoeuvred and if he is sincere that he opposes what ZANU PF has come to represent then he should resign like any self-respecting leader. What he is contesting is a party decision and he can't continue within an entity whose thinking and direction he doesn't accept! Resigning, not metaphors, is the only redemptive path for him. He should resign and then canvass for the support of the opposition, which he is clearly pandering to, against his own party. CAB3 is not the product of any single individual but is a ZANU PF project, a party to which he belongs. He cannot reduce it to any single Hezekiah when he has been part of Cabinet that approved it. He failed to block the resolution from the Conference, Politburo, Central Committee, Cabinet, Public Hearings and we are now reaching the Parliament stage. For the ruling party he has become the main opposition, providing fodder for continued tension and instability through such veiled attacks. The biggest takeaway from all this is that he lacks the necessary political muscle and internal support for anything of significance. Thats a hard truth which the doomsday prophets should quickly recognise and stop putting pressure on him to become some action hero. Party members have accepted the party decisions and moved on. Only social media and the motley crowd of illusionists hanging in shadows amount to the "army" that are beckoning him into what will surely amount to self-immolation. Fuelled by this "virtual army" he has instigated multiple political infractions goading President Mnangagwa who has himself remained dignified and quiet. ED's patience and Long-Game tactics are clearly unsettling him. It's just that the political standards for the opposition, which has embraced him on social media, is very low such that they can't recognise the absurdity of the VP remaining part of the machinery which they deride and yet embrace him as a shining light. For the ruling party he is becoming a liability publicly questioning party resolutions and feeding the public mentality with treasonous thoughts.

My wife thinks she's been f00ling me for 5 years, sneaking around with another guy without me catching on. But that's not true. I've known she's been having an affair with our neighbour, who lives across from us almost since it started. We have been married for 10 years and for half of that time she has been cheating on me. She thinks she's clever, but I found out pretty soon after it all began. The guy she is with loves to boast about his conquests and one day, he ended up bragging to the barber about his fling with my wife, calling me a fool. But what he didn't know was that the barber is an old friend of mine who spilled the beans. I stayed cool and started gathering proof of their affair. Once I had enough evidence, I showed it to the neighbours wife. We both decided to stick with our marriages for the sake of our kids, but...

In any normal country, Parliament would demand that the President’s office account for the very public role of a private citizen in official engagements. What security clearance does he have, and on what basis? What oath has he sworn to protect Zimbabwe’s National Interest? Under Mnangagwa, the Zimbabwean State has been dangerously informalised, official protocols discarded, statecraft dumbed down, and the dignity and integrity of the Office of the President reduced to that of a Temu mafia don! Contrary to @jahprayzah’s hit song, hazvisisina kana chiremerera!

Social media influencers in Zimbabwe who earn money from platforms like YouTube and Facebook are now being told to sort out their taxes. Some influencers make a lot of money. For example, Madam Boss said she can earn over US$20,000 in a good month from Facebook. Others like Mai Titi, Comic Elder, DJ Towers, Ritz and Mama Vee are also earning from online content. The tax authority (ZIMRA) says all these earnings must be declared. Influencers have a chance to come forward and report their income before May 30, 2026, without heavy penalties. After that, those who do not pay tax could face fines or legal action. Full story on H-Metro
