I’m the first person in my family to go to uni, first in my family to finish Year 10. Education changes lives. Today I was sworn in as Minister for Education.

Breaking up the routine with Kahoot and Skribbl.io. Some drawings were baffling

I thought to mix things up by playing Skribbl.io with the students. Some of the interpretations make for a good laugh

Yesterday I walked out on my low group, which is half of my class, during writing. I was more invested in their progress than they were and I felt burnt out. After break time I apologised to them and explained why I was upset. Today, everyone did their best and wrote well.

I will repeat: I am not a fan of the black and white thinking going around that purports school = unsafe/home = safe. Although health is paramount, it is a VERY privileged standpoint that to think all kids have safe and loving homes. I said what I said.

Opened my museum today and my kids loved it. They were all buzzing with excitement, it was a joy to watch them. 🥰 Shortest 1 hour ever.
