Do more hill sprints.
Hamstring strains are the #1 injury in contact sports
and its one of the biggest reasons athletes never develop one of the most valuable qualities in sport -
Speed.
Hill sprinting is a smart way to reintroduce high-speed running if you’re cautious about hamstring injuries.
The incline naturally shortens stride length and reduces peak hamstring strain compared to flat sprinting.
Yes — nothing replaces flat max-velocity sprinting.
But you have to be conditioned for it.
Hill sprints help bridge that gap, building speed exposure while managing risk.

Congratulations to Zach Lane and Cincere Ruffin on taking the next step in their academic and athletic journeys! Zach will be attending SIUE, while Cincere will head down the road to McKendree University. Two of the best on and off the track! Your commitment, work ethic, and passion have brought you to this moment, and we’re excited to see all you achieve at the next level! Proud of you both!
Two of our seniors, Chris Malone and Aidan Jumper, suffered season-ending injuries yesterday. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during their recovery!
Great day for the Tigers as they win the O’Fallon Relays (first time in 9 years)! Senior Patrick Chism Jr. was named “EHS Track Athlete of the Meet”. Patrick was a double winner in the 100m dash and ran a great anchor leg in the 4x2 relay.

I feel incredibly blessed and proud of myself for how well I ran. Last year, I remember watching the top times and wishing I could be fast enough to make it but now I am. @TrackEHS
