Alright #isles I’ve had some time to sleep on it and digest everything from last night. Was able to take a deep breath and remove the emotion while analyzing everything. I think I made like 7 posts about Soucy. I was hysterical. So let’s make it 8. Carson Soucy is an embarrassment to the NYI organization. Darche got fleeced by Drury. It was an awful idea to begin with, and his hockey acumen needs to be seriously questioned. Either he didn’t do proper due diligence or he doesn’t understand hockey at a fundamental level. Either way, extremely alarming. I don’t know if Soucy is a good dude or not. Could be a great guy. But I do know he is completely unaware of himself. If you’re gonna be big and slow, you have to predicate your game around physicality and presence. Instead we got Carson Soucy trying to dice up wingers on the blue line, and trying to wheel out of the zone from behind his net. He has the skating ability of an SPHL player. His objective should be to hold onto the puck as little as possible every shift. The kicker too, he doesn’t skate hard, and he doesn’t play gritty or physical net front. Hes not skilled, hes not fast, and hes no physically overwhelming despite his height. What is he? If you’re gonna be horrible, at least know you’re horrible. I think that’s the worst part about Soucy. He actually thinks he’s good at hockey. I’m telling you I would bet the keys to my car that he would be a bad player in an AHL game. I know for absolute fact the Islanders have better defensemen in Worcester right now than this guy. And here’s the worst part. Because Darche gave up a 3rd for him, Soucy is going to play the remaining games and we will not see a kid from Bridgeport. Carson Soucy could be on the ice for every single goal against between now and game 82, and if it’s a “win and in” situation on G82, Carson Soucy will be in the lineup.
