While voters are ultimately responsible for the appointing of any Govt, to say they demand illiberal laws and turn on them is nonsense. Time and again British people want the same core agenda delivered. Personal and national safety, fair immigration, fair and reasonable taxation paying for acceptable level of public service, fair pricing of goods and services, ensuring the tree of democracy is maintained and refreshed so is fit for purpose and the promise that hard work is rewarded and laziness is not. They do furiously turn on MPs when the above isn't delivered and worse, when policies and decisions go against the above and even this takes a long time as the British voter isn't particularly revolutionary. However right now, with the country in such a state, the silent majority are waking up and wondering what happened to their nation and their wants.

@DrDominicNg Their P-values are not a good way to determine status isl significance. They have 28 variables. No way a .05 P-value would be good. That’ll give at least 1 false positive. Should be around .001 (.05/28)
