English

@Gaffney32158 @JohnFogartyIrl I’d say you’d ask him that to his face as well wouldn’t you? Tough man
English

@SmallerFishGAA Was there not 2? I can see your point though 1 or 2 is still not what you would like to see. Last year I would really struggle to watch a full
game of football, really enjoyed that game. Speaking as a hurling fan, it’s much much better
English

@KilclooneyJohn @EmmaCDeSouza The amount of unionist tds would just be a result of democratic elections.
I think it’s entirely reasonable that the flag and national anthem be changed to reflect a new united ireland
English

@EmmaCDeSouza Would you accept a United Ireland in which 17 per cent of TDs would be Brits from Northern Ireland; the removal of the IRA Tricolour; and a new National Anthem for a new United Ireland. If “yes” then a new debate is possible!
Northern Ireland, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 English

@john_mcguirk @TheAmanuensis This has nothing to do with government or the terrible attack yesterday or the protests that have been held about immigration.
This is opportunistic scumbags destroying the city
English

For all that everything happening here is wrong, this is Ireland under its present Government. Their policies, their priorities, their kinder and more compassionate society.
This is what it looks like. This is the country they've built.

BREAKING: Angry and violent scenes have erupted in Dublin City Centre tonight. Gript reporters saw fireworks fired at Gardai, and at least one Garda vehicle on fire.
English

@DLynchSport @buff_egan Does it say in the rules if someone is holding you jersey then you can puck him across the head as many times as you want?
English

Footage here via @buff_egan of David Fitzgerald’s sending off. If that’s not rescinded, it’s all the one. Downey hanging off him. Handbag stuff, but still gave the ref a decision to make. Yellow would have been plenty for both and move on.

@movementcoachkm Castlemartyr can get to senior A hurling today. The way the grades are named now they were premier junior in 2020. I was sceptical about the new grades when it happened but I think it’s hard to say it hasn’t been a success. But not perfect and not black and white as you say
English

@PaulColbert2 There is too many grades. And Junior players went from Div4 to 5/6 overnight.
Status matters
English

Ok, there are many issues with this narrative. Larry is a great, and lovely, man. But this is opinion without context.
1. Like many suburban areas, players choosing choosing rugby or soccer is a given. We don’t own them in GAA. They play football often along with other sports 👇
Irish Examiner Sport@ExaminerSport
Larry Tompkins: 'Last year's minors are playing rugby and soccer. They are gone from the GAA' irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/arid…
English

@movementcoachkm When does sport become about competition and not about participation?
English

@PaulColbert2 That’s a very different point though.
That’s a selfish onlooker view, see a few games a year when other completions were finished.
It was no good for participation
English

@movementcoachkm I think you have it wrong about the grades in Cork as well. I feel the system is working well. All the teams winning grades now are going to be competitive at the next grade they go into. Realistic chance of progress when a small/rural club comes with a good team.
English

@PaulColbert2 1st, talking about club to be clear.
But it was played in shite & often straight knock out.
A box ticking exercise in terms of participation. Not real participation at all.
Now the latter stages often good for the reasons you outlined. But that clouds overall judgement of comp
English

@movementcoachkm I can’t understand how you saw the u21 grade “as a joke”. It was always an excellent competition. It was a grade that was not focused on participation or development but on being a competition.
English

@CahairOKane1 @pauricmccloskey The GAA want to sell tickets. You think that they should tell people to wait? This is Derry County boards issue, no point in blaming the GAA for it.
English

@pauricmccloskey Or if you aren't able to buy the best seats on the Monday morning then fans should be informed as such. It really is a mess of a system. A lot of angry people about it, which is a real shame given supporters should just be able to look forward to next weekend without all this
English

@PlayerGaelic If this is a juvenile team, would you not put more of an emphasis on player development rather than focusing on one very particular, and in my opinion strange, style of play. Is any player learning how to play full forward? Are middle 3rd players learning how to kick pass to 14?
English

@mandsireland I don’t seem to be able to send you a private message. The order number was 606-0036463-1422233
English

@PaulColbert2 Hi Paul, I'm sorry you are missing a part of your order and I will be happy to look into this for you. So that I can help you further, could you please confirm your order number as well as the email address and billing address of your order? Many Thanks! - Katarzyna
English

@mandsireland Hi, I had a clothes delivery arrive on Saturday that was missing some items. I’ve sent an email and got an automatic response to it. Can you help me please?
English

@cronanmcnamara @donegalgirly @RiochtConor2 @michaelmina_lab Every test will give false positive and false negative results. These will happen anyway but can be exacerbated by poor sampling technique etc. You cannot explicitly trust any test, so it makes sense to confirm with PCR
English

@donegalgirly @RiochtConor2 @michaelmina_lab Nope. That makes no sense - assuming PCR tests should be taken within a matter of days of the positive Antigen test. Does this undermine their claim of the PCR test being the gold standard?

@Shane_Mangan @DubMatchTracker It can’t be a fair challenge. He attempted to make a fair challenge but got it wrong. He shouldered him into the head. That is not allowed in Gaelic Football.
English

@DubMatchTracker From a Meath man I thought it was a fair challenge. The force of the challenge made it dangerous but it was within the rules.
English

I think it’s unfair to post a single frame photo and call it ‘damning’
A lot of people thought it was shoulder to shoulder in real time, even if he did blindside him.
It wasn’t shoulder to shoulder, but it wasn’t an elbow either. Image is misleading!
