@GBNEWS @benjaminbutter Blair should have reversed the damage, but like a good Tory he stuck to the narrative/script also took it further with charging for education/tuition fees the Tories 2010-2024 finished selling off the remaining assets. remember Mrs Thatcher said her finest achievement was Blair.

@GBNEWS I'm afraid Mr @Jacob_Rees_Mogg (this so called) Political Commenter isn't telling the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Mr @JohnRentoul is either being purposely selective or is simply unaware of the facts. the table below shows the welfare cuts from last year.

This really does compound in what the story of our country is - unfair, no hope, no trust in the State and the institutions. The State is failing. We have to be honest about that.

Ofgem’s so-called energy price cap is a total con. Bills are going up again We need a real price cap that protects ordinary people, paid for through the profits of energy giants. We need to replace expensive gas with cheaper renewables. And energy back in public ownership!

Privatised water is such an obvious scam that it's achieved the impossible: getting 82% of Brits to agree on something. The only issue to score higher was the public’s desire for Tony Blair to stick to retirement.

@NicholasTyrone I can think of handful in the PLP that I'd much prefer than Blair as PM, but that's because unlike Blair they are actually on the left not Thatchers finest achievement.

I mean, whatever criticisms I might have about Blair’s 5,700-word piece, it does demonstrate that he is hundreds of times more qualified to be prime minister than any current Labour MP. Although that says less about Tony Blair than it does about the parliament Labour Party.

This really is tone deaf stuff from Blair. The extreme, neoliberal, centre is what’s led to a cost of living crisis, food banks and wider decline in our country, and why people across this country are rejecting it outright. It’s his brand of politics that’s led us to an utterly broken country. It’s crystal clear Tony Blair does not care about the lives of working class people.* And, this intervention definitely does not speak on their behalf He speaks for the billionaire class, vested interests and the status quo with the aim of protecting their wealth and power, much like his great friend Peter Mandelson. His institute are bankrolled by big tech and corporate interests, not the 99% struggling through austerity, insecurity and inequality. They don’t represent ordinary communities nor possess the answers to the problems facing the country in 2026. Time to bow out Tony you have done enough damage.

There are plenty of lessons that can be learnt from Tony Blair’s legacy. For example, that privatisation has been disastrous and following the US into illegal wars is wrong. But his latest “rare political intervention” - calling on the government to abandon net-zero, further privatise the NHS, deregulate Big Tech, and cosy up to Trump - shows that he hasn’t learnt any of them. Whatever you think of Gordon Brown, his contributions after leaving office have been focused on trying to improve people’s lives. Tony Blair simply does the bidding of Silicon Valley billionaires and petrostates.

Blair has said "the rising number of people on disability benefits was unsustainable and must be cut as a priority." So what does he want the disabled to do, go away and die? What a hideous man he is. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

Oh, so Tony Blair’s “radical centre” is: - reducing workers’ rights - opposing wealth taxes - axing climate commitments - greater NHS privatisation - toadying up to a Republican US president Not exactly sure where the “radical” part of Blair’s radicalism is... 🤔

@DangleSpanners @redrumlisa The last ever left wing Government was in 1979 end of.only those on the right and believers in the neo-Liberal model wouldn't renationalise and reindustrialise. the reason's are simple for why Britain PLC makes millions in private profit daily.we don't even own the national grid.

Blair knows there are major problems in Britain's structure but he doesn't understand the extent of it - the collapse in trust, faith & hope amongst large parts of the Country especially the working class. We dont believe there is fairness in the system, we dont believe work can offer us a life with dignity, housing is a basket case, there is a belief true or not that new houses will be given to immigrants, & people on welfare earn more than a worker; the trust in politicians, Judiciary, police has disintegrated, even the NHS is no longer trusted. We have massive structural problems that isnt easily fixable. We have a massive problem with the story of Britain.
BBC Radio 4 Today@BBCr4today

"If we carry on like this... we're going to create a situation where economically we're not able to grow." Sir Tony Blair says the current welfare and pension triple-lock policies are 'not affordable', and argues for change in the NHS.
