@bfgfox Sadly true. Such a well organised defence and blocking midfield - we didn't have the ingenuity, guile or energy needed. Schedule has been insane and always likely to happen. So, we'll have to go up the hard way. COYS

I’m reading lots of reactive negative comments about our players. I actually thing Bristol City have played really well and been the best side #saintsfc

@DuncanHolley @BellaWallerstei Wow, Duncan, really poor post that undermines any other of your posts on this subject. British Jews in UK are not 'fair game' because what Israel does.

@SotonianHistory I recognised this and those memories straight away. But it was always a treat ... and never an expectation! My mum was of a generation where "a Nescafe at home with a home made cake" was every bit as good as going to a posh place. We were allowed to take sandwiches in the park!

I`m sure many of the people will remember this view of the Café/restaurant at Debenhams. For a treat I visited with mum, sat near the windows which gave a wonderful view towards the cricket parks whilst I had a tasty cake and a cup of tea, lovely eh? Martin Read 19-05-2023 (SS&F)

@PaulDunnSims At the turn of the century they were successful on the pitch but overspending so a decade later were in trouble. Just before the Titsnic sunk they launched an appeal for funds which they had to then cancel. Yes the Chapel near St Mary’s was full of houses lived in by seamen.

Morning @DuncanHolley, given your historical position with the Saints, do you know how (or if) the Club responded to the tragedy of the Titanic and the effect on Southampton back in 1912?

@DuncanHolley Thanks. I thought Saints at the turn if the century were one of the wealthiest clubs? Did things suddenly go wrong? Also my great grandparents lived in Chapel Road at that time and I was brought up believing this was one of the worst areas affected by the losses. Is that true?

@PaulDunnSims Yes there were collections held at The Dell but in 1912 the club themselves were financially crippled.

@DuncanHolley What will be your acceptable excuses for racist behaviour towards black men in London? That Idi Amin wasn't very nice? Just an excuse for exposing long held racist views against British Jews. They are British.

The biggest reason there is a rise in a dislike of Jewish people is directly because of the barbaric actions of the Israeli government and supporters. It’s that simple.

BBQ RULES: We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion: (1) The woman buys the food. Ensuring she is educated in the correct cuts of steak to purchase. (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert. (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand. (4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman. Here comes the important part: (5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. (6) The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery. (7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat Important again: (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN. (9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes And most important of all: (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women. 🤣🤣

@DuncanHolley Why? It's not in my country. It's a foreign issue at a time when we have real issues at home. I also know how difficult it is to get real facts on a foreign situation and don't believe news in Uthcomes without opinion and bias ... I won't pass condemnatioon on what I do not know.

@DuncanHolley @GME_1970 What the fuck has a charity in the UK got to do w You really do think your 'Holier than Thou' views on Gaza justify foreign backed attacks in UK on anything associated with Jews. BUT this is our society. It may not be perfect but this our home. FO to Gaza if want their wars

Another grim day for our UK jews: Ambulances burnt out Gaslighted by MPs X was awash with racism Ignored by MSM Yet over £1.25m was raised in less than 24 hrs for a Jewish charity serving the NHS, much of which came from non jews. Lets make our pro Jewish voice heard

After an antisemitic attack on a Jewish volunteer ambulance service, you’d expect focussed questions about the rise and threat of antisemitism in the UK. Not @edballs on @GMB this morning. Instead, he tried to shift the discussion – asking whether criticism of a mass iftar event in Trafalgar Square is “causing problems” for the Jewish community. This isn’t balance or insight; its poor journalism that misses the point and dilutes the seriousness of antisemitism. Well handled by @DovForman for staying on point.

@koshercockney I am not Jewish. I have no skin in the game other than a wish to respect other Brits and their contributions to our society. The comments made are correct- who will be next in line for 'non conformance' discrimination? We must make a stand- this is our country- not Palestine

Please read. I held off posting about this because I know a lot of people in Golders Green and have been getting in touch with them all this morning. The entire Jewish community of Golders Green right now is shook but I will tell you what, they aren’t cowering, they are doing what Jews do best. Showing strength and coming together. There is a lot of fierceness, anger and rightly so. None are surprised, not a single Jew in the UK is likely surprised. It was the same with the Manchester synagogue attack. This government, along with the London Mayor and Met police that have allowed hate marches every week through the streets of London for two and a half years. The judicial system letting terrorists supports and Jew haters off the hook. The Prime Minister refusing to proscribe the IRGC and pandering to Islamists. It’s all been very obvious that these events would get more frequent and targeted as the perpetrators become more emboldened by the lack of push back and consequence. You politicians can keep saying “antisemitism has no place in our society” - well clearly it does. It’s become embedded institutionally. Universities, the NHS, the BBC, the Police, the Judicial System, Foreign Policy, the Home Office, Councils and many MPs in Parliament are all riddled with it. The ones that aren’t are complacent about it or let it spread out of fear of offending a certain “demographic” of voters. I will tell you now. Almost every Jewish family in the UK since the Hamas attacks on October 7th 2023 has seriously considered leaving Britain - due to this Nazi like hatred fuelled by Islamism, Anti-Israel propaganda and the “Pro-Palestine” movement. But this is bigger than you may think, much bigger. It’s not just an issue for Jews. This is serious. There’s a reason they say Jews are the canary in the coal mine. It affects everything. No exaggeration. Read any history book. History has shown, throughout millennia, that when antisemitism goes unchecked, societies fail. Jew hatred is a cancer that needs to be surgically removed - not ignored and allowed to fester. It attacks and it rots. Because when the Jews leave, who comes after.

@saintbannerman @mattletiss7 I wouldn’t change supporting Southampton for anything, will always be there thick and thin. I couldn’t imagine supporting another club as that isn’t me. They can have success they’ve only seen on TV, I’m taking being in the stands with my mum supporting over that all day long.
