Making a brief return to Twitter, where I first heard about the lovely #Nala, the #Stevenage railway station cat. Nala sadly reached the end of her ninth life in 2025. I always looked out for her when passing through Stevenage, but never caught a glimpse. Sleep tight, Nala.

@davidhconductor Have you thought about BlueSky? It has a much nicer vibe, closer to the Twitter of old, and a strong music community. The algorithms are fairer and much more in the user's control. And still no ads - yet! I haven't looked back.

I think it’s time very soon to start an account with Instagram and hope followers might be interested. It’s a shame but I just feel different about X than former Twitter.

I've now been on Bluesky for a week, and I'm ready to evangelize the place a bit. Crucial point up front: It feels like Twitter did back when you joined because you *wanted* to be here, not like X now where you're just stuck here because everyone you follow is also stuck here.

If you really insist on applying the analogy here, what's been prolonged to 23 minutes is the amount of time during which you *can't say* whether the cat is alive or dead, because technically it's both. But this is why I'm not a writer of clickbait-y science headlines, I guess.

Mystified as to how Facebook manages to have this grammar blunder in the desktop browser, but correctly uses "fewer" in the mobile app. I can't understand how it's not simply a shared string resource in their code base. Of course, "Show none" is the option I really want.
