Don't hate! Not everyone can win a National Championship their freshman year like @reyna_guggino! Some of us had to wait all of 6 years! And it was worth every second of the wait!

Humility and the Trap of Comparison So many times in life I’ve felt like I wasn’t doing enough — that I wasn’t progressing fast enough, that I was behind where I should be, or even that I was on the wrong path altogether. Other times, I caught myself thinking, “At least I’m not like them.” From a young age, in a sport as subjective as they come, I realized how much of my mindset was rooted in comparison. I trained six or seven days a week, often four to five hours a day — you’d think it’d be impossible not to improve with that much effort. Yet there were plenty of days when it felt like I was going backwards. Looking back now, the common denominator was clear: I was constantly comparing myself to others. How did I stack up? Was I ahead or behind? Was I making excuses for my lack of progress or downplaying how good others were? The answer was yes — to all of it. The turning point came when I realized that true progress isn’t measured by comparing myself to others, but by comparing myself to who I was yesterday. Once I shifted my focus inward — on becoming a slightly better version of myself each day — everything changed. I stopped worrying about my “stock” in comparison to others and started finding peace in steady, personal growth. The Lesson from Luke In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus warns about the danger of pride and comparison. The Pharisee in His parable “spoke this prayer to himself,” not to God — thanking Him that he was not like others. Instead of humbling himself, he glorified his own accomplishments. A priest I recently heard speak said something that really stuck with me: At the end of our lives, we won’t be compared to other people — we’ll be compared to Jesus Christ. The question isn’t how you ranked among your peers; it’s how closely your life resembled His. Our Unique Journeys Social media today only amplifies our tendency to compare. We scroll through highlight reels and start to feel like we’re falling behind. But God didn’t make us to live someone else’s story. He gave each of us unique talents, struggles, and callings. If He wanted us to have another person’s path, He would’ve given it to us. So as we move through this week, let’s remember to stay focused on our own lane — trusting that our path, with all its highs and lows, is exactly where we’re meant to be. The grass may look greener on the other side, but God waters each of us differently. A Lesson from the Gym In the years leading up to the Olympic Games, I had a choice to make: should I overhaul my gymnastics to include bigger, riskier skills, or should I trust my clean, precise style and focus on perfection? Many people mocked me, saying my routines were “too easy” — that international judges wouldn’t reward my gymnastics the way they did in the States. But when it came down to the wire, the Olympic Team didn’t need three guys swinging for grand slams. They needed someone reliable — someone to get on base and start the momentum. That was my role. That experience reminded me that faithfulness to your own gifts often matters more than chasing what others are doing. God calls each of us to serve a purpose that only we can fill.

Looking for someone with experience editing long-form (>1 hour) discussions into short, engaging podcast clips! Had a great talk at the Polish American Cultural Center and need help trimming it for social media. Let me know if you're interested! @jonmorosi @NPASHF

Listening to @JoelKlattShow this morning about this past weekend which was filled w/ College Football Upsets! He mentions, "In life, failure is the driver of growth!" I can't help but think about my 'failure' at the 2021 Olympic Trials and telling myself the next time I came back, the story would be different! Two pictures of the same gymnast, but with wildly different stories!

This is a NEW Lions team. I love having the ability to tie it up even when we’re in the red zone. Shoutout Mr. Bates, you’re him. Ready to see you drill a 60 yarder for a dub. #GoLions #Detroit #SuperBowlBound

Just got back to the driving range for the first time in about a month. No exaggeration, I flubbed 20 shots in a row. Decided to get a hotdog and work on my putting! 😂 Maybe I’ll stick to gymnastics for now…

Our buddy ⁦@PaulJuda2⁩ having a banner bronze medal day at Le Golf Nationale. Huge fan of the sport, met ⁦@Wyndham_Clark⁩ and ⁦Scottie Scheffler. Paul says his success is built around a simple philosophy. Work hard and be nice to people. #paris2024

I think this is one of the greatest shirts to ever be printed... not to mention it was produced the day after trials. Anybody know where I can purchase one? Just a massive bow to the person that made it! #GoTeamUSA

Definitely was a funny interaction with the absolutely amazing emergency room staff at The University of Michigan Hospital when I let them know that I need to be out of there in the next few hours in order to get onto a bus to go and compete in a gymnastics meet! 🤣🤣

And as for the kidney stones the day prior to the event, I let only the coaches know my circumstance as it was happening. They urged me to make the best decision for me, no pressure on their side at all. But, this team means too much to me to not compete with every ounce I have.

Crazy past few weeks to say the least. A disappointing loss this past weekend. But, I'm incredibly proud of this team and everything that we have done thus far. Like the article mentions though, we didn't perform like champions on Saturday.
