Here’s the dirty secret, and something DOGE should focus on. The fastest way to get promoted to a higher GS level (meaning a higher salary and other perks, like a govt car) is to have “x” number of employees as your direct reports (and this includes the count of people reporting to those directly below you, and on down the chain). That means the PRIME DIRECTIVE for most government employees is to build the largest possible organization. It may be the biggest reason why there is so much redundancy across the multitude of government agencies. The federal agencies are thus incentivized to be as large and inefficient as possible. From the perspective of the bureaucracy, waste is “not a bug, but a feature”.

@infantrydort It’s the new way for leftists to dismiss voices on the right. “That’s not even written by a person!” It’s all part of the process. First you dehumanize your opponents, then you can destroy them without suffering an iota of moral angst.

The most smartest bestest former war college professor just accused me of using AI. When, in fact, no AI was used whatsoever. If envy had a physical heartbeat, it would be Tom. Thanks for the compliment though. I know it must be hard realizing an Infantryman can write.

Excellent analysis. I’d go one step further and say that his acknowledged expertise as the leading modern stoic is what sent him full tilt over the waterfall. The response to hearing his philosophy “mocked” (in his mind anyway) by Ivanka, the personification of his bete noire? All his training and a lifetime of expertise just vanished in a cloud of emotional angst. The scary part for conservatives is this demonstrates the deep seated pervasiveness of leftist propaganda. If even a trained stoic can transform almost instantly into something unrecognizable once the smallest of buttons is pushed, what does that say about the millions of others who have internalized the same views?

@bariweiss This is an obvious attempt to whitewash the Biden Administration’s failure in North Carolina and to try and draw attention away from the SPLC scandal. Do better. Oh, and when will 60 minutes cover the SPLCs disgusting actions? Make sure Leslie Stahl is the lead, as it will be interesting to watch her try and swallow that sandwich.

@DHSgov @StephenM @ICEgov Please stop referring to “rioters” as “protesters”. Do we call it “undocumented withdrawals” when a bank is being robbed?

Last night, @ICEgov conducted a targeted enforcement operation in Brooklyn that resulted in the arrest of Chidozie Wilson Okeke, a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria with previous arrests for ASSAULT AND CRIMINAL DRUG POSSESSION. During his arrest, Okeke refused to comply with officers’ lawful commands to exit the vehicle and weaponized his vehicle to attempt to hit ICE officers. Okeke became physically combative attempting to punch and elbow ICE officers. Our officers followed their training and used the minimum amount of force necessary to make the arrest.    After his arrest, Okeke requested medical assistance, so ICE officers escorted him to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for a medical evaluation. Okeke remained non-compliant during the medical evaluation throwing himself to the floor and screaming. The medical staff cleared him.   During the medical evaluation, a significant crowd of anti-ICE agitators gathered at the hospital and became violent. The protestors damaged several ICE vehicles and assaulted ICE officers, resulting in minor injuries to the officers. Assaulting law enforcement is a felony and crime   Officers from the New York Police Department responded to the scene and arrested several rioters.

Tom was the type of instructor that thought he was God’s gift to the military, but in reality he was the dude everyone hated and immediately talked shit on once his frumpy back was turned after he was done pitching the worst idea imaginable. He is a walking version of the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, except gayer and with less to offer the world…

Eric Holder: Democrats haven’t wielded power aggressively enough — and they need to start: “Progressives and Democrats have a reluctance and uncomfortability with the acquisition and the use of power." "And so the next time we have that power, we need to use it." “In service to the American people.” (of course) Putting aside the ludicrous spin that Democrats are reluctant to use power unlike Republicans — they mean this.

The fact is that the Supreme Court has ruled that DEI is unconstitutional, and equally obvious that it was deployed throughout the military. Things were so bad that entire DEI implementation organizations were embedded in purely military formations, a scary parallel to the Soviet “political officers” from the Cold War. This is not something which is open to dispute, and it should be completely uncontroversial that active duty soldiers are well within their rights to talk about the evils inherent in that prior illegal policy, and to speak out about the associated rot. The fact that this is a matter of distress to most of the media tells you everything you need to know.

We now know the Iran war price tag is more like $50 billion - hundreds of dollars per household - and counting. It's enough to cover all the health insurance premium credits that the Republicans got rid of for this year, and next. It could save rural hospitals, pay teachers, fix roads. Don't let this White House insult your intelligence by blowing your money on war, then saying America can't afford nice things.

They don’t actually think like we do: “What are the things important to me in my daily life?” We ask that question and then make decisions on that basis. Most of those on the left believe what the media tells them, and that’s it. When that conflicts with answers to the big question, they just short circuit and revert back to the talking points they were fed that day.

I think it is time we consider the possibility that Democrats are so thoroughly convinced that Trump supporters are actual Nazis that they see Graham Platner's Nazi tattoo as being an electoral advantage.

I mean... In a 2020 interview, Nichols directly addressed the question of military service: “Did you ever serve in the military? I was within weeks of being commissioned in the Naval Reserve as an intelligence officer when I learned I was extremely color blind and was not accepted into the program.” His expertise on military and national security topics (including Russia, nuclear weapons, and civil-military relations) comes from academic study (PhD from Georgetown with a thesis on Soviet military doctrine), teaching roles, and work as a legislative aide on defense and foreign affairs—not from personal uniformed service. 'Those that can't' is how the phrase begins.

A lot of folks have already pointed out that Ike was hopeful as SACEUR, but that as president regarded NATO as permanent. This is why people who work in national defense should go to war colleges, or maybe just read a book here and there.
