@Lauzirika I had that. When you list a ball, the machine said, “You’re retired.”

@DaveWellock @PulpLibrarian @PaulMSammon1 I read the book many years after I had seen the film. I am not a sci-fi fan whilst I found some of the ideas in the book interesting I do not think Philip K Dick is a great writer . I would not rush to read any of his other books. A classic film which stands the test of time.

It's always a good day when Blade Runner is trending on Twitter, so let's look back at this classic 1982 movie and see how it compares to the book. "It's not an easy thing to meet your maker..."

@Dune_Cast @DuneAuthor I was fortunate enough to get to know Frank and Beverly in Mexico City while working on Lynch’s Dune. First read Dune in Analog in 1963. I’ve met Denis V. too. But the most important Dune to me will always be Frank Herbert’s.

@PaulMSammon1 @DuneAuthor Seems like that should've happened when Dune won Best Picture, Best Director, or Best Adapted Screenplay: categories Dune should have unequivocally won.

Big night for DUNE, winning 6 Oscars! I only wish my father and mother could have been here to be honored on stage at the Academy Awards ceremonies. This is for Frank Herbert and Beverly Herbert, who worked so hard to bring this classic novel to life, and for worldwide Dune fans.

The next of the #christmasbooks is this fantastic, super detailed book on one of my favourite ever films, #BladeRunner. 500+ pages on everything from development & pre-production, all the way through the shoot & post production. Oh & a chapter on THAT Voiceover. @PaulMSammon1

@DuneRead @80sscifidoc @PaulMSammon1 You think that is obscure? How about the first (and last) issue of "The Dune Reader" (also by Paul M. Sammon), the official newsletter for the film.

On June 25, 1982, a film was released that changed my - and many others’ - life. 39 years later, we’re all still watching. (shot on my IPhone during the November 2019 BR Final Cut screening hosted by Shoulder of Orion podcast in downtown Los Angeles)

@Lauzirika There were smiles. But if you’d been there, you’d know the levity was, to be kind, sporadic. Thanks for posting all the great pix Charlie!!!

A late, still-mournful lament re the passing of Rutger Hauer. Our friendship lasted from the moment we met on the Blade Runner set in 1981 well into the 21st century. Earthy, warm, mischievous, poetic - farewell to a true Dutch Master.

@CrypticPictures Short answer is that my Alien book was licensed and tied to the release of Alien Resurrection. When that underperformed, my book (which was extensive) was taken off the dock.

By now there are dozens of books about the #Alien series, but damn few of them are worth owning. I have a feeling this will be one of those few. 🎥❤️ (And in case anyone knows: Whatever became of Paul M. Sammon’s book on the series that was teased somewhere years ago??)
