The ignorance of some of us is palpable. A private citizen is talking about WHAT GOVERNMENT ACTION AND INACTION is doing to young people, and their question is, where is your gift for the school. It is why we elect clowns and thieves because the responsibility that should fall on government is passed on to concerned average citizens.

Today, I visited my old high school where I attended (form 1). Take a look at the state of neglect. Take a look at what is being served to our students - people with backgrounds similar to mine. Look at the desk and the floor. My journey from schools like these to the Ivy League in American should give hope to young Kenyans with backgrounds like mine. That it’s not about where you start - but where you want to go. This was what my single mom could afford. The sad thing here is that millions of young children from backgrounds like mine - are paying the price for greed, incompetence, and indifference. In 2023-2024, for every one shilling our country spent on education, it spent 3 on debt service. For every shilling spent on healthcare, we spent 12 on debt service. This, for a country that we are told is only 5 trillion from becoming Singapore. In three years under @Wamatangi_ - Kiambu County has stolen about KSH 5.5 billion from the average citizen by spending 55% of all county revenue on salaries for people in government- who are only 1% of the county population. This situation is playing out exactly the same across the entire country. It is the reason I spend so much of my time highlighting these situations. The kid that attends this school needs a fighter - when everyone in government has decided that it’s their time to eat. The future, without change, is not worth it.
