@PaulMicks @RobCross247 That’s very sad but not quite as sad as our current homeless figures. Peoples right to somewhere to live trumps a hobby enjoyed by the middle class who undoubtedly all enjoy the benefits of a comfortable home.

@jiggerypokery80 @RobCross247 Read the article first. You’re not comparing like with like. There are different laws in Ireland. The club would be open to possible claims for damages emanating from residents. The risk of claims affects the golf’s ability to get insured & a risk of closure for a start.

@RobCross247 Pebble Beach is regarded as one of the best golf courses in the world and it has private houses located on the golf course and adjacent to the fairways. Does Castletroy Golf Club see itself as above courses like Pebble Beach? How many majors has Castletroy hosted?
