Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby, who is under NCAA investigation for making bets via a gambling app, has retained the noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to try to regain his college eligibility, sources tell me and @PeteThamel. If Sorsby and Kessler are unsuccessful in finding a path to eligibility, declaring for the NFL’s supplemental draft then would become an option. Sorsby would have until June 30 to declare for the supplemental draft.

@Horns63 @TexasFancyBoots Same, but I do think Tuesday games matter for morale. I don’t think it’s as easy to “flush” these games when the coach is telling the media guys are timid at the plate. Like you say, we need to be hitting better.

@PaulOverhoff @TexasFancyBoots It’s not the pitching for me, given that weekends is all that matters. But these Tuesday night games I need 4 to 5 guys to start swinging like D-1 hitters at a program like Texas. I don’t have to say the names, y’all know. That’s what I need to see from these mid week games. 🤘🏼

Just a friendly reminder that Tuesdays are the days to get some extra work for arms and players that need it and to tweak the roster.

@TexasFancyBoots Agree and I didn’t mean to imply Cozart as a viable option. Early in the season he was getting some starts but as we’ve seen his is just about locked into that closer spot with Crossland, Burns, and Leffew on those late innings leverage spots.

Cozart is a weekend closer. We use him multiple games on the weekend. You don’t burn his arm on a Tuesday. Flores and Walker I can see, maybe, but I wouldn’t put them as leaps and bounds above the guys that have been in tonight. Everyone pitching tonight needs the work in real games to see if we can rely on them later. Look I don’t love getting dog walked either but 1) it’s the 4th, 2) these arms need work 3) it’s non-con. Hopefully we sort some shit out defensively and out bats go on a tear.
