Clearly, your deeper issues with capitalism are fair enough. I think there is so much polar thinking from both Marxists and hardcore capitalists that actual meaningful progress can get lost. Far right slippery slope arguments about public spending leading inevitably to socialism are particularly tiring.

@PaulSparta Sure, but my primary problem with capitalism isn't necessarily this aspect, I would think it'd be a great thing to have universal healthcare or UBI today. The more fundamental problem is that capitalists necessarily become a barrier to economic development.

Something rarely commented on "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" is a statement about individual rights.

I agree with this. However, it is important not to extrapolate this idea beyond it's range. You can still have equally free societies with differing levels of public expenditure for different things, i.e. "public spending" does not equal "planned economy," even if a planned economy almost always correlates with extreme public spending. A free and classically liberal society should always focus on efficacy not blind doctrine.

@policytensor @mattieenigmatic E-3's have no defensive jamming capabilities for aircraft they are tracking. EA-18 Growlers and other platforms provide those functions.

@mattieenigmatic Yes. Good instinct. The E-3 and the radars track all activity. They are also how fwd aircraft know where the antiair weapons are firing.

@policytensor Not necessarily. With the very high number of sorties over Iran, a few hits will occur, even with weapons as simple as a medium machine gun. Though, short range AA capability can be easily stood up in places previous thought safe and get in solid strikes now and then.

Argh. Two AMAZING job offers: top unicorn investment firm, and working on a feature film with one of my favourite screenwriters. ...both in the USA. Where I can't go, at least until it's safe and the regime is comfortably over. So if anyone wants me *UK/EU SIDE* shout.

There is no trash cannot, there is only TRASH CAN 🦝💚🏁 A strong start to Race 1 of the GT World Challenge America season. Derek DeBoer rolled off P7 in class (P11 overall based on combined qualifying) and was charging early — but the race took a turn when we were tagged from behind by a certain pink unicorn 🦄💥 Thankfully, the damage was largely cosmetic aside from the diffuser. The team made the most of the caution with a quick check-over and fuel top-up, keeping us on the lead lap with a smart strategy call. From there, it was all green. Hampus Ericsson jumped in and pushed forward, running as high as P5 in class before bringing it home P7. Proud of the fight, the execution, and the resilience from everyone involved — plenty to build on. On to COTA! #gtsonoma #randomvandalsracing

@VincentJBruins I agree, if we could get the field up to 25 cars that would be amazing. But we all know around 20 is all we are going to get. All the good teams are in IMSA and IMSA is king in the US. But they don't have enough space so figured GTWC would grow this year and it has a little.

I have to admit, I was sceptical about the switch from two races per event to one three-hour race, but there is plenty of strategy going on with tires, driver changes and the timing of the stops. Even with 'only' 18 cars this was a very fun and interesting race. #GTWorldAmerica

Sparklefarts down! Slade Stewart was attacking Derek DeBoer for sixth place in the Pro-Am class, but he brakes too late for the final hairpin and crashes into the back of the Random Vandals BMW. The Full Course Yellow is out 10 minutes into the race. #GTWorldAmerica

That’s what we’re talking about! Three classes. Three podiums. A huge result for the team in GT4 America Race 2. The #94 started from pole with Kenton Koch, who handed it off to Sam Craven to bring it home and secure the Pro-Am win. The #98 delivered a strong, consistent drive, with Josh Green and Bruno Colombo finishing P3 in Silver. The #188 went flag-to-flag in Am, with Denny Stripling and Judson Holt completing a dominant weekend sweep 🧹 Massive team effort all around — strong, clean, and composed drives from every car. Next stop: COTA. Let’s keep it rolling 🦝💚

There it is! This is one of the only pics I’ve ever seen of that. The Skoal Beretta! A one off race, moved up from GTU to GTO with 4.5L V6 and that dope Skoal livery!
