@daviddownie17 We even booked the bus tour online before we went. Just as well as it was fully booked when we got there.

@RodneyMarshall1 I saw Julie Andrews some years ago giving a talk on her life and times and she said that during the love scenes Blake would shout "Come on Julie, you can do better, I know you can!".

Director Blake Edwards was joined by legendary cinematographer Freddie Young, who had won Oscars for Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965) and Ryan's Daughter (1970). He offers us sweeping, lush widescreen colour photography for the scenes filmed in Barbados.

The Tamarind Seed, a slow-burner espionage-romance. For me, one of the most underrated ITC films. First, you can't go far wrong with a combination of Maurice Binder titles and a John Barry score. The blue and red continue throughout the film, both visually and thematically. 1/

My good friend @SaucySeventies is thinking of calling time on his account after criticism of a recent post, both direct and otherwise. If you enjoy his posts as I do and don't want him to go, please leave a little message and give this a like! PS Haters not welcome!

@LiverpoolVista In the 1960s I was taken through the tunnel by my uncle who was driving a left hand drive car. As I was sitting in the "driver's seat" I had to pay the man in the green booth. It was 7d then (about 3p now) and you received a distinctive green ticket.

A bit of a blast from the past in the city centre. 🏛️✨ If you’ve been walking past the Queensway Tunnel entrance lately, you might have spotted these striking green structures and the massive black column. It feels like a bit of 1930s time travel has landed right in the middle of Liverpool. For those wondering what they are: The Green Booths: These are beautifully restored Art Deco toll booths from the tunnel's original opening in 1934. They were tucked away for decades, but they’ve finally been brought back home to show off that classic "British Racing Green" style. The Monument: The tall fluted column is a replica of the original lighting monument. The 1930s original was a landmark for motorists until it was removed in the 60s, so it’s great to see the "Grand Entrance" looking grand again. It’s a lovely bit of heritage restoration for the Mersey Tunnel. Definitely worth a look if you’re heading towards the World Museum or St George’s Hall.

Everton’s absolute gaul to extract nearly £100 million pounds sterling for Anthony Gordon and Amadou Omaha to stave off both relegation and bankruptcy is this decade’s most audacious power move in soccer. VG.

You should take a tour with @ReelTours and see many of these famous locations. Its a great way to see Liverpool with someone who really knows his stuff.
Liverpool City Region@LpoolCityRegion

Spotting local locations on TV and in the movies is no longer a fleeting experience as a new report shows Liverpool City Region’s film and TV industry is booming. Whether it's doubling for elsewhere or the main attraction, the sector has seen record growth since 2019 adding £150m the local economy, creating more than 5,000 jobs while boosting skills and apprenticeships. The city region has welcomed more than 1,600 productions becoming the UK’s most filmed area outside of London. The Combined Authority’s £2.8m LCR Production Fund, delivered by @FilmLiverpool, has had a ‘transformational impact’ in this growth with its 10 supported productions, including This City Is Ours, The Responder and Time, receiving 19 industry awards including four BAFTAs and two International Emmys. Derek Martin has died. His work as DI Fred Pyall in the BBC's magnificent Law & Order was perfect. I can still quote reams of it.
