Employee: Here is my two weeks’ resignation notice. HR Manager: You didn’t tell me you were planning to leave. Employee: Yes, I wanted to wait until the right time. HR Manager: The right time? Employee: I’m joining a new company with a better offer. HR Manager: How much are they offering you? Employee: It’s 170,000—a solid jump from my current 100,000. HR Manager: We can give you a no-brainer offer—190,000. Employee: In that case, I’ll stay and accept your offer. HR Manager: Thank you. You’re one of our top performers, and we can’t afford to lose you. Employee: I knew I could count on you. Four months later…↓

@XFreeze Never listen to this nonsense. Less the people, better the planet. Only rich people are worried about this because they need people to buy their products/services so the rich stay rich all the time. Nature knows how to balance all these, no human efforts are required to fix this.

The future of humanity is in a serious crisis 🚨 New 2024/2025 fertility estimates show major economies are far below the 2.1 replacement level: • South Korea: 0.72 (Critical) • China: 1.00 (Critical) • Taiwan: 1.11 (Critical) • Poland: 1.10 (Critical) • Spain: 1.19 (Critical) • Japan: 1.20 (Critical) • Italy: 1.21 (Critical) • Germany: 1.35 (Severe) • Russia: 1.37 (Severe) • UK: 1.49 (Warning) • US: 1.62 (Warning) This isn’t a distant problem. We are heading toward: 📉 Population collapse 👴 Exploding elderly dependency 🛠️ Shrinking workforces 🏦 Broken pension systems 🏘️ Empty cities Governments must prioritize policies to raise fertility: childcare support, housing reform, financial incentives, and cultural shifts This is not optional. This is existential

Until Linux starts making basic things like this easier, there won't be a year of the Linux. Just set up Fedora 43, and here are the commands needed to prevent it from sleeping.

Anyone thinking that AI can create a market ready product is a clear idiot. Don't listen to any AI based company promises. AI is good for some simple chats and fun & not yet there for serious business. It requires at-least another 5 years to stabilize.
Sergio Pereira@SergioRocks

I'm increasingly hearing about these frustrations from Startup Founders who reach out to me. They've tried to hack an MVP with AI tools. They got somewhere, but then down a rabbit hole before the product is ready to market. As a Fractional CTO I help salvage the code and ship a working product out of it ASAP.

@mudgen @dhh Linux for desktop? None. Almost all distros lack one or the features so you will be tweaking it forever. If you want to get your job done, stay with windows & never worry what linux fans say, they often exaggerate the simplicity of linux as desktop OS which is misleading.

I setup a new Windows machine recently, and I couldn't believe what an obstacle course its become. macOS has been going downhill too, but Windows 11 is still the king of awful. Even if Linux hadn't improved by leaps and bounds lately, it would look amazing standing still.
