Now comes the second PR event, where our CBN uncle says he will give cash incentives for babies — ₹30,000 if a couple gives birth to a third child, and ₹40,000 if they have a fourth child. Not sure what the actual intention behind this is, but it definitely sends the wrong signals. AP is already struggling with massive unemployment. Even today, people are migrating to other states and countries in search of jobs and better opportunities. On top of that, the cost of living, education, and healthcare has become unaffordable for middle-class and educated families. That is exactly why many families are consciously choosing to have only one child. It is not because they don’t want children, but because raising multiple children has become financially burdensome in the current situation. Without addressing key problems like: - Free and quality education for all children - Affordable or free healthcare - Employment opportunities - Better wages and economic stability …how will a “cash for babies” scheme actually solve anything? Giving ₹30,000 or ₹40,000 may work well for publicity and headlines, but raising a child requires long-term financial security, not temporary incentives. Publicity is easy.
