Our November issue is live! nature.com/nchembio/volum… The cover depicts a SEM image of a dorsal surface of liverwort M. polymorpha female thallus. Liverwort were found to have a noncanonical pathway for the regulation of master growth repressor DELLA.

Capacity building in quantum science and technology is critical in catapulting India into a global leader in the area. A Master of Science (MS) program in Quantum Technologies, the first of its kind in India, by @IISERPune is a milestone in the direction. It was a pleasure to be part of the launch of the MS program today along with @PrinSciAdvGoI, Professor A K Sood, Dr. @AjaiChowdhry, HCL Founder and Chairman, Mission Governing Board, National Quantum Mission and Director IISER Pune Prof. Sunil Bhagwat. The course scheduled to start this year would be supported through IISER Pune’s Technology Innovation Hub, one of the 25 such innovation hubs set up by @IndiaDST under National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems. It would comprise of 3 semesters of class room teaching along with exposure to quantum labs and one semester of project/internships as well as modules on #IPR and #entrepreneurship.

@pcastr @arxiv This happens sometimes. For me, I submitted a paper in the condensed matter section. It was put on hold, and a few weeks later it appeared on quantitatively biology and neuroscience section: arxiv.org/abs/2301.01619

In a new study, researchers @CeNSEatIISc, have created artificial networks using 2D materials that mimic the behaviour of neurons in the brain.
Such platforms can help researchers better understand how the brain processes data.
