@jrpsaki 7 days since it snowed and yet to see a plow on my street in Fairfax County. Was VDOT gutted and I just missed the memo?

Wrapping my head around schools in virginia being closed for another day when it hasnt snowed in a week. And this is what it was like making our way to school growing up in the northeast…

@jrenkie @rorycooper @VaDOT @VaDOTNOVA has not plowed our street, it's now 6 days since it snowed. Everything is caked in ice and we've resorted to pickaxes and garden shovels to try to make a path. Absurd.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is responsible for clearing the roads not Fairfax County. I have been driving the roads and I think VDOT has done an excellent job clearing roads so they are not only passable but down to bare pavement on major arteries. I’ve encountered very little difficulty in any of my travels.

Fairfax County is one of the highest taxed counties in America (with more coming!). The roads should not look like this two days later. Haven’t even seen any plows on the road. Streets are a mess.

@VaDOTNOVA @CityofFairfaxVA @VaDOT @VaDOTNOVA can someone please reply or acknowledge? We did not go out yesterday anticipating a plow would arrive and no one came. My neighbor who had a heart attack recently was out digging ice/shoveling because you skipped us. This is getting absurd.

Road conditions are improving across Virginia, but many secondary and neighborhood roads remain snow/ice covered. Crews will continue working until all state-maintained roads are safe for travel. Thank you for staying off the roads and we appreciate your patience.

So yes, not a mistake, Maladath has died as an effective realm as everyone has moved to the US megasevers instead. So we’ll be closing it to character creation and opening FCMs on to Dreamscythe and Nightslayer later today. There will be a blue post about this coming as soon as we get FCMs working again, boost is our first priority for the morning though.
