WTF, PBA

@TheDeanQuinito @ph_basket @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter I can go on a tangent for every year, but just as an example, let's look at the 2012 & 2013 PBA Drafts, and notice how time & time again farm teams have traded their picks to SMC teams

English

@TheDeanQuinito @ph_basket @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter While these PBA teams get next to nothing back. Another part to this is that those aforementioned teams (Air 21+) have time & time again traded their top draft picks to SMC & MVP teams for no reason. Have we forgotten that JMF was suppose to be an Air21 pick. Why pass up on him?
English

It’s a done deal—-Greg Slaughter has been traded to NorthPort for Christian Standhardinger! PBA has OKd the 1-on-1 swap! Welcome CStan to Ginebra & welcome Gregzilla to Batang Pier! What do you think of the trade? @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter
English

@TheDeanQuinito @ph_basket @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter For below market value at that
English

@TheDeanQuinito @ph_basket @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter W/ all due respect Sir, I urge u to pay attention to the past decade of the PBA draft, and observe how in almost every instance, teams such as-- Air21, Barako, NP, Kia, and BW have blatantly traded their top draft picks and/or their premiere players to exclusively SMC & MVP teams
English

@Sev_BJr @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter Because you mentioned Greg and CS are pretty much equal. You pointed out that CStand's stats are bloated because he plays on a lesser team. To which I brought up Pringle's NP and Ginebra stats are equal, meaning being on a lesser team doesnt make someone's stats less meaningful
English

@PbaTruther @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter At Ginebra coach Cone made Pringle a focal point in the gameplan,hence "pretty much the same stats". But then again I don't see what that's got to do with CStand vs Greg trade being 'lopsided" as you said?
English

@Sev_BJr @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter This is the same argument people had when Pringle was traded to Ginebra. Check his stats now, pretty much the same
English

@Sev_BJr @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter Imagine putting those points up on a lesser team, where you're the focal point of a game plan. Teams didn't have to gameplan anyone on NP aside from CS. Yet he was still a beast. CS is also a better defender, can switch to faster players. Also has a much better steals rate
English

@grtstmthrfckr All you need is Wikipedia. Check the draft history between SMC teams and Air21/Barako/NP/Kia when you have the time. Spend 10 minutes before you sleep. It's all there
English

@PbaTruther Cause not everyone has time to look up those stuff. Hence I’m asking for more proof from you since you seem the type of person who does those kind of research.
English

@grtstmthrfckr Well I have given you proof, you just don't want to spend time on the LONG list of misdemeanors from the SMC group
English

@PbaTruther I have no time for that. If you have the proof to back up your claim kindly tweet it back.
English

@Sev_BJr @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter You mentioned his height, and his team accomplishments. Not much about his stats, skills and ability
English

@PbaTruther @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter greg is a 7 footer, he's got more pba accolades than cstand including being a 4 time champion. so stop whining
English

@VeronicaBGK @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter The same argument was said about Pringle before he arrived in Ginebra. As we've seen, great players impact winning. Pringle has been Ginebra's go-to guy. Not much will be different with CStand. He will play so freely now with better players around him. His efficiency will rocket
English

@PbaTruther @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter Not sure bout Greg's minutes but he wasnt the main offensive option in Ginebra- he was mainly there for his defense on the opponents' bigs. He's likely the 5th scoring option after Pringle, japeth,LA, scottie. Stand was the main offensive option in Northport as Bolick was injured
English

@grtstmthrfckr You just mentioned NP and Ginebra are sister teams. Look at the history of the PBA draft from the past 10 years, and observe how often Barako Bull / Globalport / Kia have traded their premiere players to SMC teams for below value
English

@VeronicaBGK @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter On that same season, Greg played 11 more minutes than Stand. That's almost a whole quarter of basketball. And if you would look at the stats, CStand only attempted 3 shots per game. He was barely a priority in SMB. If given the spotlight, he's a beast. Just look at his NP numbers
English

@PbaTruther @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter Not fair to compare Greg's stats in a loaded team vs Stanhardinger's stats in Northport. Maybe better to compare against Stand's stats when he was in SMB and JMF was healthy. As far as I know his stats werent as impressive then thats prolly why he was traded.

English

@marcomanipon @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter What a joke excuse. PBA players can't leave their teams. Unlike in the NBA where they can. Also, I'm fairly certain NP could've got A LOT more from other teams for CStand
English

@PbaTruther @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter By the way, their explanation was:
“Standhardinger has yet to sign, thus forcing us to trade him,” read the team’s statement. 🙄😂
English

@fatronner @TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter CS was averaging those numbers despite being the number one thing to game plan against in NP. Imagine him playing more freely as teams game plan against Pringle, Japeth, and now him. His numbers will only get more efficient
English

@TheDeanQuinito @PbaTruther @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter CS was the main post player for GP. It's not surprising for him to get those numbers. Greg was only getting hi-lo plays in gsm.
English

@TheDeanQuinito @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter Last we saw of Greg, he was averaging a whooping 9ppg and 6 rebounds. While CStand last conference, averaged 19 and 12 along with a better assist and steals rate. It's a clear downgrade for NP. Greg is a worse player
English

@PbaTruther @hoopnut @PhilippineStar @cstandhardinger @GWillSlaughter You can’t underestimate Greg! He’s a tower on the court and he plays with heart
