@jones_jamie @PeterboroughCC @andrewpakes_ @TobyWoody Camera enforcement is helping with Westgate. We would like to see this expanded. The primary role of streets like Broadway, Cowgate, Wentworth St, Priestgate shouldn’t be to provide continuous access for motor vehicles.

I love coming out for something to eat/drink in our city centre but absolutely sick of almost getting run over by cars & motorbikes on pavements & in areas they shouldn’t be in. If we want to create a leisure culture,this has to change @PeterboroughCC @andrewpakes_ @TobyWoody

Well done @PeterboroughCC. These restrictions have been in place for decades, so it’s interesting to see the lack of compliance. We hope other areas can be considered in the future too. Cowgate. Midgate. Broadway.

Just walked back through Peterborough city centre - full of: a) people in doorways looking vacant b) black Range Rovers parked in double yellow lines …. I’m sure someone can explain …

@usukgoose @UASflightops @CampaignCycling You could consider raising a complaint that it breaches the Equalities Act. Here’s one we removed. Barriers don’t stop mopeds or motorbikes, they actually enable them while disproportionately affecting the majority of users such as the disabled, mobility scooters, cargo bikes etc

Am told the cyclist in this incident remains in hospital following the collision yesterday - police are appealing for witnesses. The road was closed for several hours following the collision - We'll have a full update soon

@AJ99500818 @the_spokeswoman But the article mentions the importance of buses. For every 10% decline in bus speeds, we lose 10% of patronage. The only way round it is to mitigate the impact of congestion with effective bus priority. It’s actually the urban elites that need to get out of their cars.

@PTstephenB We’ve been asking for a long time to have a vision for the city centre. Particularly around transport. @paulbristow79 @NikJohnsonCA rightly celebrating Station Quarter, University, Fletton Quays, Embankment, but do they work together? Do they change the status quo?

But what next for Peterborough city centre - and Queensgate? That is a huge blow for retail in the city. We'll have reaction to the news coming soon.

@paulbristow79 We agree verge and pavement parking is a big issue (parking in cycle lanes too). It’s three years since the Government’s consultation on nationwide pavement parking & no action. Could you ask a question in the Commons please asking for an update?

@PoliticsPboro We hope the debate now moves onto the actual plan for Peterborough. Congestion charging was political point scoring. Peterborough is the largest city in @NikJohnsonCA area & it is the furthest from government targets, especially for cycling. 🔻Cycling 🔻Walking 🔻Bus 🔺Driving

It does mean the return of queries around whether it could lead to a form of congestion charging in Peterborough in the future, something which Peterborough First, Labour and Lib Dems have all denied.

@TobyWoody That shared use path is so bad. Cyclists, pedestrians, pushchairs all trying to squeeze onto 2m. Very poor connection into what will be the Cygnet Bridge.
