I’m sure everyone remembers the Buddy Rose tape library story… Buddy preserved the earliest known footage of PW on his old Quasar VR1000, pre VHS/Beta technology. Rich Patterson salvaged those tapes from becoming landfill and had them digitized, & has now entrusted me with them!

It was an honor to train w/ Ken Patera today at the legendary Loprinzi’s gym. What an absolute privilege to talk shop w/ Ken as he reminisced Sam Loprinzi, Bill Pearl, Art Jones, the 1972 Olympics, Roy Shire, Luther Lindsay, Art Thomas and many others… bucket list achieved!

Going to miss you my friend! Ken was one of the first people I had correspondence with when I started immersing myself in the history of Portland Wrestling. His passing is a tremendous loss to me personally & I will greatly miss our conversations about PNW wrestling history.

It’s with a very heavy heart to report that friend & Pacific Northwest Wrestling fan/photographer Ken Hamblin has passed away. Ken shot the Super 8mm footage from Tacoma, WA that he trusted me with releasing on VHS that came out last year. He was a good man and a wonderful friend
