Best wishes all those who celebrate Ramadan Mubarak. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and fasting during this month fulfills the fourth pillar of Islam. Ramadan is a time of fasting, renewal, charity, worship, and growth.

The Peace Corps' entry into South Africa began with Pres. Mandela's state visit to the White House in October 1994 where he met with Pres. Clinton. We honor Nelson Mandela and his contribution to the establishment of Peace Corps in South Africa. #MandelaDay

On his birthday, I am remembering my friend Nelson Mandela and giving thanks for his life and his long quest for justice. I still miss him. May the world continue to be inspired by his actions and enriched by his example. #MandelaDay

The legacy of Nelson Mandela for service in 🇿🇦has been lived out in its true virtue through the #PeaceCorps. After requesting the US Government come to the country over 25 years ago, over 1700 volunteers have served in various communities across SA. #MandelaDay2023 #Mandela10

We are honored to host RPCV, Jason Carter, and his family. Carter served with SA-2 (1998-2002) & spent two years in Mpumalanga, where he worked on education issues. During his #PeaceCorps training, he learned Zulu and siSwati, and these tools helped to break down racial barriers.
