Wales has an extraordinary peace mission to the world - Peace Mala. This multi award winning educational project encourages young people to engage in creative, compassionate education that embraces all cultures and encourages cohesion, diversity, global citizenship and respect.

A few days ago I was honoured to receive a letter from James Dawson, Head of Royal Correspondence at Buckingham Palace. He informed me that His Majesty was delighted to hear of the ongoing work of Peace Mala and sends his warmest wishes for every success in the future.

Today is the 23rd Anniversary of the launch of the Peace Mala project at the UNA Wales Temple of Peace Cardiff. We gathered in peace with Archbishop Rowan Williams, the 14 faiths represented on our symbolic bracelet and so many others. What a journey it has been! #peacemala

Year 10 pupils at Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi made Peace Mala bracelets to mark Interfaith Week, celebrating diversity, kindness and service to others. They considered the message behind the Parable of the Good Samaritan and The Golden Rule.

Following yesterday's atrocity in Manchester it is evident that anti-antisemitism is on the rise. Many of our headteachers in our accredited schools are commenting that Peace Mala is needed more than ever. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of yesterday's victims.
