Yesterday, we wore green on March 17th for St Patrick’s Day! It was such a special occasion. We learnt that the day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. Celebrations involve parades and festivals, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks☘️🇮🇪

To end our celebrations of Chinese New Year, we invited our families into the hall to learn all about the Year of the Horse ? There were lots of fantastic activities and crafts. Chinese Tea to drink whilst tasting our fortune cookies too! What a way to end Spring One!✌🏼🧧❤️🐎

As a part of our Chinese New Year Celebrations we listened to The Venerable as she taught us how to meditate. It is so important for us as a @PeaceMala and Belong School to learn about the festivals of others. Buddhism promotes kindness to all creatures and beings!🧧🐎

Today is Chinese New Year’s Eve! We had a fabulous Chinese New Year Day on our final day of this half term and welcomed the community from our local Buddhist temple. We even had the chance to taste food which is traditionally eaten at this time of year! #ChineseNewYear2026

Years 5 and 6 had a ‘Home Fire Safety Talk’ with @manchesterfire from Stretford Fire Station this week! We learnt about the dangers in our home and how we can help our families keep safe. One child had to put on a fire suit before a timer ended as a challenge too! 🚒🧯🔥

It was fantastic to see so many parents at our Year 4 Parents as Partners Maths Session this week! The Year 4 children were able to share with their parents and carers the many ways we teach and learn Maths Mastery at St Matthew’s! #nwmathshub #mathsmatters🧮
