When the money comes: don’t let it corrupt you How will you change as a person when the money comes? I’ve seen it enough times to know the pattern. Someone makes their first serious money in crypto : let’s say 50K, 100K, just a life-changing amount by any reasonable measure. And instead of the clarity and freedom they thought it would bring, they become more anxious, not less. Because now they have something to lose. And having something to lose is a completely different psychological state than having nothing to lose. Some become cocky. Lots of people do. They get something like a god complex, and suddenly their day ones (who aren’t trading memecoins and didn’t make such a life-changing amount of money) are below them. If you ever make a big amount of money, remember how people acted towards you before it happened. Once the money is there, it becomes very hard to distinguish the fake from the real ones. The anxiety makes them hold too long, trying to turn 100K into 500K. Or it makes them take on more risk to “secure the gains” by making even more. Or they tell people because they are proud of themselves, and suddenly everyone knows — which changes relationships. People suddenly become nicer to you (fake). Or they spend it on things (cars, watches, parties…) that make them look wealthy to others but don’t actually change their life, which means they need to do it again. The money is not the destination. It’s a tool. The question is what you actually want the tool to build. Time? Freedom from a job you hate? A house? Security for your family? The ability to take risks in the rest of your life without financial catastrophe? Define that before the money arrives. Not after, when your emotions are running high and influencing every decision you make. Trust me, I’ve been through it. Know what you’re going to do with it. And when it comes — actually do it. Take the profits. Pay the taxes. Remove the mortgage, make the down payment, start the business, or whatever the actual goal was. Change your fucking life. A million OR two million doesn’t matter. A million changes your life by 100x, two million by 105x. Are you really going to risk losing that chance at changing your life for that extra million? Which barely has any additional effect on how much your life changes compared to that one million? (100x vs 105x?) Don’t let the number on the screen keep growing until it goes back to zero. That’s the roundtrip trap applied to your whole financial life. Goodluck 🫶
