Lithium Batteries being charged🔋 have caused a 🔥 fire on Level 3 of the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. 20 patients had to be evacuated. This will be a protracted incident as the floor needs to be ventilated and cleaned before patients can return.

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Nulla Vale this evening, Monday 6 April 2026. Emergency services responded after a vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree near Stoneford Road about 7.30pm. The yet-to-be identified driver and sole occupant died at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.

A driver has died as a result of their injuries after driving their car into a concrete wall 🧱 bridge overpass. Queens Road, St Kilda 3182. The collision occurred approx 9:40pm today. It's believed the bearcat operators used their "cattle prod" to puncture the side of the shipping container and fill it with tear gas. Desmond Freeman used a blanket to help shield himself for as long as he could before walking out holding one of the VicPol handguns. The gun fell to the ground and was marked by crime scene investigators with yellow marker number "5". Mike Bush has said that multiple members opened fire on him - he died at the scene. The tip-off came last week. It is not known from who, or if they have received the $1,000,000 reward that was promised.

Police were tipped off last week about Freeman’s location near the small township of Walwa, on the banks of the Murray River (NSW & VIC boarder) and they attended and found him living in a shipping container.

A stolen Volkswagen Amarok, travelled in convoy with a stolen Mercedes police deployed stop sticks successfully during the pursuit. However, the Mercedes continued travelling at speed. The vehicle then moved along Burwood Highway toward Wantirna South. At one stage, the Mercedes travelled on two wheels before being abandoned. Amarok fled the area before colliding with another vehicle on Scoresby Road. Importantly, the second driver was not injured. Two Arrested After Foot Pursuit The driver of the Amarok, a 35-year-old Lang Lang woman, attempted to flee on foot. Police quickly arrested her at the scene. Meanwhile, officers arrested a 35-year-old Keysborough man nearby, who was linked to the Mercedes. Both remain in custody.

HIT RUN: Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit and run collision which occurred in Clyde North this morning. Investigators have been told two men were standing on Westphalian Rise about 1am on 29 March 2026. It is alleged a Kia hatch drove past and the occupants hurled abuse at the pair before performing a u-turn and driving towards the men. One of the men jumped out of the way while a 29-year-old man from Clyde North was struck by the car. He has been taken to hospital with critical injuries. The vehicle did not stop and the occupants are yet to be identified. A crime scene is in place and investigations are ongoing.

UPDATE: VicPol detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad will investigate the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire which occurred in Prahran this morning. Officers were patrolling the vicinity of Malvern Road and Chapel Street about 2.05am when they noticed a fire at a Chapel Street nightclub. Simultaneously, a witness called @TripleZeroVic to report a loud bang and a light-coloured hatchback fleeing the scene. A number of witnesses have also reported seeing two vehicles travel in convoy along Commercial Road around 1.50am. It is believed a number of offenders used a vehicle to ram the front door of the building, before spreading accelerant and setting it alight. Two 20 litre jerry cans were seized from the front of premises. Fortunately the club was empty at the time and no one was injured, but the premises was completely destroyed and it is expected surrounding buildings will also be impacted. The fire is believed to be suspicious.

Love Machine ❤️ Fire 🔥 At 0204hrs @TripleZeroVic received multiple calls advising fire burning in 2 story brick building approx. 15 x 30mts with shops on ground floor. First @FireRescueVic appliance on scene in 4 minutes escalated blaze to 2nd Alarm. On scene FRV crews confirmed 1st floor fully involved with Fire. 3 x Areial appliances used to assist in firefighting operations. All firefighting operations external due to difficulty gaining access to fire. Power substation in sector 2 and unstable wall in sector 4. Tram lines were isolated on Malvern Road. Community warning for Smoke in Area issued at 0258am Structure fire deemed under control at 0425hrs, FRV will remain on scene to monitor hot spots. Cause of fire yet to be determined and will be investigated by Victoria Police. Stonington Council Building Surveyor requested to attend in daylight hrs to assess structural integrity of building. Police and Ambulance were on scene to assist FRV in operations. Power and Gas companies requested for isolations.
