After 40 years here I’m leaving. This was on my doorstep in Golders Green. My wife and children have already left. I have always believed in the European civilisation and I have been proud having been born as a European. My wife’s Opa was a proud German who got out by the skin of his teeth in 1939. I’m not going to make the same mistake.

Saddened to hear of the awful news of the plane collision at LaGuardia Airport.
My thoughts are with the families of the two pilots who lost their lives, and hope for the many injured in hospital to make a full recovery.

@BilodeauMeg @Khiva1 They were not massively distracted. The atc gave them permission to cross the runway. That's normal procedure, and no, they wouldn't have seen the plane given the conditions. Both movements are governed by the atc.

@simplesarahbear @BilodeauMeg Yelling "stop, stop, stop" without identifying who needs to stop is improper procedure in aviation, rail, and other transportation industries. The atc made the error, and it's doubtful the truck could have seen the plane given its angle and the glare of the lights.
