🎩 I wanted to share with you the process of how the Amish deal with difficult situations. We were called by the head elder of the community that Bertha lives in to weigh in on a situation. The elders are going to rule most likely against one of its families. There will be a decision of whether they can stay or not. The elders and the whole community have worked with his family to try to help them for close to two years. And when I mean, they’ve tried to help them I mean, they even went to taking over their finances to help them learn to manage them better. They have given them money, job offers food and forgiven debt that they owed to other Amish community members. They have offered both parents jobs within the community because there is no younger children to care for at home. The parents are not cooperating and are unable to provide for the family . I mean, they can’t feed them. They can’t feed them because they won’t work. I mean will not work! My husband and I were both called into the situation by the head elder to answer their questions. And honestly, I never would’ve imagined that this would be an actual problem in the Amish community because they all have a very good work ethic. It’s the backbone of their community. The Holy Spirit convicted me to advocate for their youngest daughter, who is a teenager. My husband and I did that this week. We said that the daughter should not suffer because of her parents. We suggested that she be placed in another Amish home to finish her teenage years instead of being displaced if the family is asked to leave. The problem has followed this family from community to community for YEARS a. Eventually, there will be no more communities for them to be in. I am super upset about this because this young lady is really just going to be an innocent casualty. And to find two parents who don’t want to work is just kind of unbelievable to me. But it’s happening. I told the elder that if they do not provide help for this young lady, she’s going to be set up for failure. Why? because her mother has not taught her one skill. So no cooking, no sewing none of the skills that most young Amish women are trained in from the time they are little. She would not be a suitable wife by Amish standards for an Amish man. She would not have the skills to take care of a family in the future. She also is not going to be able to live in the English world either. It could be a disastrous outcome. If she has placed in another Amish home now there’s still time for her to play catch-up to prepare her for the future. When I tell you, I’m just sick about this you have no idea. And then the whole thing is just strange to me that I’m advocating for a young Amish girl and I’m not Amish. But here I am. Please offer a prayer for this young lady.🙏🏻🙏🏻

I was asked one of the most meaningful questions at a college yesterday — “What do you love most about being a woman, now?” It’s hardly the first time I’ve been asked this, but it’s admittedly never been easy to answer. This time, though, I think I gave my best response: The beauty of womanhood is that it’s not immediately obvious to us at first. When you’re growing up as a girl, you think, “I have to live half my life having periods every month?! I have to endure the pain of childbirth and deal with all these physiological burdens and social pressures that men don’t!?” The grass seems greener on the other side and so a lot of girls assume at first that there’s no value in the struggle, but the fact is that in order to fully appreciate the female experience, you have to grow through the hardships in order to experience the blessings.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.
