@PeltastDesign I have no idea how often you check Twitter, but I’m just here to say that I adore Why Am I Dead At Sea! The character writing is really well done, and I found Alton and Quella very relatable. I also found the mystery super satisfying. Keep doing what you’re doing!

@Merlandese it does get really fight heavy. there are still some nice themes at play, but it loses a lot of its gravity. early FMA evokes something I haven't really seen much elsewhere and it's cool we somehow got an anime that stayed in that space while the manga moved on

@PeltastDesign yeah def, not a knock against FMA:B mostly interesting to me because before FMA:B, FMA was applauded for how it could be a shonen that went beyond just "who fights who" each episode, it was inspired! then FMA:B came out and most of the new material was "who fights who" again

it's always been wild to me that FMA was, for many years, the Top Anime of All Time then Brotherhood came out and so many people make fun of it? Why? the original took creative license with the premise. FMA:B ends up being one of the most bog-standard Shonens possible

The way it handles history and ties it into a deeply human story...the way it uses murder mystery tropes without cheapening the gravity of death...and yet I'm somehow the only one I know who has played it ;_;

I can't speak highly enough about Pentiment - it stands apart from all other narrative games I've played and is a beautiful culmination of Obsidian's prior work. If you haven't played it yet, give it a shot!

this system was in a previous lil platformer I worked on, though the movement/attacks have changed a lot. if you're unsure why I'm returning to this of all things, it's a bit of an extended warmup - some of the code and work will end up in other games
