I just threw away all of my kids Halloween candy. At 5pm we left the house and they filled a full bag of candy in our neighborhood. 100+ pieces. We go nuts and let them eat as much as they want. They did and both got belly aches. Then when we get home we tell them it’s time to give their candy away to kids who didn’t get any. They put it out on the porch. As soon as they are in bed we throw it away and it’s over. Good lesson for the kids and it keeps Halloween from becoming a 10 day event of unhealthy crap and possessiveness.

My kids aren’t allowed to have candy on Easter or Halloween.
Horrific for them and a terrible habit.
If they are good all day they get flavored yogurt (normally get regular) as a bedtime snack.
I tell them it’s ice cream (they’ve never had it).
Raise disciplined kids.

He’s a cab driver in NYC taking care of his mom
He started reviewing Michelin star and famous restaurants as a normie last year dining alone last year to show you can treat yourself to these spots. He also goes to family run spots.
What’s so cool is how many people on the streets of NYC and the restaurant workers started recognizing him
But now the famous chefs know him
And he still insists on paying. He says it’s the Turkish way

That was a horrifying video (every writer should feel a chill after listening). In comparison Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat" - based on the wrong premise that a flat world is more interconnected than a round one - trails far behind.
