See the scale of child poverty and hardship where you live via this tool from @actnforchildren. You can then send it to your MP, asking them to protect children and their childhoods from the impacts of poverty. bit.ly/3Y826zO
Rishi Sunak’s much delayed return reveal a Tory tax system where the PM pays a far lower tax rate than working people - who face the highest tax burden in 70 years.
His latest handout to the richest 1% shows you exactly who he puts first.

This is dynamite from Kaveh Solhekol on Sky Sports News. Absolutely nails it. He has the Tories and BBC on toast. Well done!! 👏 Take 2 mins and watch👇#garylineker#ImWithGary#MOTD#ToryFascists
I wrote to @RishiSunak over a month ago to ask by what authority @BorisJohnson was travelling to other countries while Parliament was in session, what he was saying or arranging in our name, and who was paying for it. I’ve yet to receive a response. Please RT to give him a nudge.
Remarkable, really, that today’s events prove that Johnson & Frost did not have an ‘oven-ready’ deal, that Brexit will never be ‘done’ & that the entire country remains in the grip of a xenophobic fever dream. But hey ho, Sunak can dilute some of the damage if the EU lets him…
I think it's very sad that Nicola Sturgeon has announced her resignation. She was a genuinely liberal progressive politician that promoted policies that improved the lives of real people. She wasn't in the pockets of billionaires and achieved very real things. A rare politician.
I can see a great career for Nicola Sturgeon in an international organisation like the UN. She would be brilliant as High Commissioner on Human Rights.
Nicola Sturgeon has shown how politicians can behave. Being eloquent, being there every day during the pandemic, being brave and sometimes wrong. But never afraid to stand up for her country. I have watched from grubby England with respect #nicolasturgeon#loss
John Bercow schools Nigel Farage on the brexit disaster.
"To date brexit has been a grotesque blunder... but Nigel wants to blame someone else... it's nonsense on stilts... just admit people are poorer & wages are down... "
You're 23 (twenty-three) times more likely to be prosecuted for benefit than tax crime, even though tax fraud and error costs an estimated £20bn a year compared to £2bn in benefit fraud and error. (h/t @paulwaugh) taxwatchuk.org/tax_crime_vs_b…
It's a convenient shorthand to say we're 'fighting climate change' but it rather misses the point
We're not fighting climate change, we're fighting those that are delaying us from transitioning to systems and technologies that don't cause climate change
This Xmas I sutured wounds, reduced fractures, faced Covid, delivered babies, vaccinated, saved a man from sepsis, cried with a couple miscarrying, & held the hand of a dying cancer patient.
Maybe I could’ve done more. But don’t limit & defund me to do less. #MedTwitter#RuralGP
