Why would anyone buy a BTL property in the UK anymore when they can park the same capital in a $STRC ? In this example, someone has £400,000 parked across 5 different properties with each one generating £11,400 (4.75% gross) income. However, once you factor in all of the maintenance costs, interest on the loan, management fees etc, he's making a net loss of £22,138 per year! Now some could argue that the property prices may be increasing in value, but have you actually tried selling a house in the UK recently? Good luck with that! In comparison, he could park £400,000 into $STRC, that pays an annual divided of 11.5%, paid monthly. £46,000 paid straight into your bank account, tax deferred. No maintenance. No management fees. No tenants negating on their monthly payments. No headache. Why are more people not doing this?
