@TStoop His posture is better for sure. He still has trouble inside with velo. I don’t think it’s a swing that can cover every pitch. You’re not going to be good all the time but you need to be able to get good swings off.

Tatis blown up inside. I really cant understand how you can allow two important bats (Merrill) to have swings that can’t hit every pitch location. They aren’t going to be good everywhere all the time but these are huge mechanical flaws that create swing decision issues

@SergioMQuintero It goes beyond Fernando. Why can’t Xander stay back? Like ever..Why can’t Merrill close the inside hole? It’s organizational. Complete hitters don’t grow on trees. Manny is as close as the padres have but the group is too easy to pitch to.

In my opinion the only way Tatis refinds his power strokes is that he shuts out his father from tinkering on his swing, and fully commits to a performance center to adjust his mechanics/swing with video and Sabermetric measurement to optimize a get in the air swing.

Merrill is more hinged. This is a big development. Could see more Pull Fly balls if he maintains good posture. His bat to ball skills are so good this always seems like it could be an easy improvement for him .
