The last week has taught me more about this space than the last few years have. I saw a community come together to speak for freedom, for peace, for the children of Gaza. Artworks were created with care, thought, pain, and humanity. Countless people showed up, artists supporting artists, collectors supporting artists. Most bought more than one piece and proudly shared their acquisitions, timelines glowing in red, black, white, and green. You know who I didn’t see? The self-proclaimed patrons of the arts and thought leaders. They were silent. No collecting, no support of any kind. The strength of this space comes from those who live and breathe its values. Not the hype, not the bags, not the cabal. It comes from the artists who pour their souls into their work, who support one another, and from those who share and amplify their voices. In a few days I learned that what really matters is not who shouts the loudest, or who claims to be an expert, but those who show up when it matters most. Thank you to @ArtForHumanityx and those behind this initiative for organizing such an amazing fundraiser, and for everyone who showed up in support.

#TheNakedMonaLisa is my latest mural. Painted over 6 days in an underground tunnel… right under the Louvre Museum in Paris. A few hundred meters from the original. Full story 🧵👇🏼

Indigenous culture in Canada is made up of a constellation of communities, traditions, languages, and stories. I recently discovered the work of @NFTipi, whose art beautifully captures the richness of Indigenous culture through a futuristic aesthetic. Her work is a reminder of why storytelling matters, how visual art can capture the past, reflect the present, and imagine where we are going. Her art is visually stunning, often complemented with sounds and music. Take time to enjoy her work, I promise you will not be disappointed. ᐅᒦᑭᓯᐦᑲᐦᒋᑫᐏᐣ by @NFTipi

An artist who has been a lot on my mind lately is @NFTipi. Her works stay with me long after I’ve seen them. One of my favourite pieces is ᐅᒦᑭᓯᐦᑲᐦᒋᑫᐏᐣ. The work feels rooted in tradition while imagining a future where Indigenous culture is celebrated and continues to evolve, which gives it a powerful sense of continuity.

Rebel. Iconoclast. Cryptoartist. @money_alotta was a superlative creator who defied categorization. Intensely prolific and madly experimental. Hilariously disarming and fearlessly astute. Fiercely independent yet collaborative beyond compare. Friend to all and beholden to none. A staunch defender of civil liberties and ruthless critic of centralized power in all its forms. Four years since his passing, take a moment to revisit some of the most discerning descriptions of his work, authored by none other than the artist himself!

I had to chance the sit on the other side of the table and talk about one of my biggest passions, the Finnish symphonic metal band @NightwishBand For more than 20 years their music has been a source of inspiration. Through their music I’ve traveled to fairytale lands and found hope in the stories they tell. The emotion in their sound, and the way operatic and heavy metal elements come together, is a reminder of the many shapes art can take and the lasting power of music. You can listen to the interview 🔽
