@Market_Mind_ Heads up: This data is kind of outdated, and only covers 30+ member countries of OECD, not the whole world. The actual 2024 global top 5 looks different: 1. UAE (99.5%) 2. South Korea (96.6%) 3. China (93.6%) 4. Barbados (91.4%) 5.Hong Kong (89.9%) FYI: ftthcouncil.eu/committees/mar…

@Market_Mind_ In plain English: it means South Korea has a massive fundamental advantage for the future of AI, cloud computing, tech tech

@MikushRab Not a technician, but these AI-generated parts looks strange to me. It feels like AI is just acting as a painter creating graphics, rather than truly reproducing a component.

Opus 4.8 just dropped and I ran it through our CAD tasks. 4.6 → 4.7 → 4.8 side by side. The results are unexpected!

@a16z I always buy way more than I need at Costco. And half of it ends up wasted. Economically speaking, it's the Supply-Volume Effect: when your stockpiles go up, your usage frequency and per-use consumption go up too

@Reuters Been using Tesla FSD for 2 years. Overall, it's safer than my own driving. Especially on twisty hill roads, it stays centered in the lane. Just experienced this last week on the northern part of Highway 1

Tesla exaggerates the safety of its ‘Full Self-Driving’ technology by comparing a rate of crashes in FSD-piloted Teslas that triggered airbag deployments to a federal crash rate for all vehicles that includes far less-severe accidents. The automaker also compares its cars to the average US vehicle – which is much older than the average Tesla reut.rs/4u2xLlh

My FSD has run red lights several times (Once I even made it recur), and drove against traffic a few times over the last 2 years. I send feedback to Tesla, but got no reply at all. That being said, I still use FSD everyday. It really saves me from having to pay full attention during my daily commute

Seven of Tesla's former data labelers — staffers who train the company's AI-powered driver-assistance software — told Reuters they wouldn’t trust the Full Self-Driving feature to drive them. 'We have all seen it fail,' one said reut.rs/4dBspso

@minchoi At least in this video, the crowd created by AI looks extremely fake. People in a crowd don’t move in such a neat uniform way. We are not a flock of birds or zombies.

Samsung has 78k workers in their semis unit. Under the new terms of the strike agreement, the semi workers will get 10.5% of company operating profits (which is incremental to their existing 1.5% bonus), creating a bonus pool worth $22.6B Average employee payout will be just under $400K. I love capitalism as much as the next guy but needless to say this is unheard of in the US

@Reuters Looks like AI companies can no longer hide behind user prompts as an excuse for generating copyrighted lookalikes. Now every AI lab is tweaking their weights overnight

@Vivek4real_ Interesting. From 2023-2025, he was hyping up how jobs are 'definitely going away'. Now, after facing multiple public assaults recently, he's suddenly changing his tune

@FirstSquawk I’ve seen this movie before🤡. Assembly lines still rely on workers for one simple reason: human labor is cheaper than upgrading to machines

@Cointelegraph Fair. As a rider, if AI just makes my driver matching 10 seconds faster and my ETA 1 minute more accurate, I don't think I'd want to pay $1 more for those features

Due to Google's aggressive AI search push, I've been hunting for alternatives. Currently testing out Kagi, and it's honestly quite good: Ad-free, clean, prioritize preferred sites, and custom "Lenses" for filtered output (like Forum/Academic/PDF). kagi.com
