@Periphery_Anon @SilverCyanide2 I know exactly how to use the rules, I've been playing battletech since the early 2000s. Sure, you bring naval ships, and I'll pick the map sheets. I quite like the fungal forest and moonbase ones as it goes.

Battletech rule update: Water is no longer mortal death acid. Piloting skill rolls are no longer required when entering water hexes, meaning that you can cross a river without having to use jump jets. You can even run in water now (but that will require a PSR). I think this is actually a good change overall, allows you to move around the map more and not catastrophically mess things up because water showed up.

@Lutra_Gaming Yeah, thats my standard usually. Low magic, more gritty, less "high fantasy". Most of the time the character's goals are to get rich, not save the world from the "apocalipse of the month".

@Periphery_Anon In my games, I play it with lower magic, some high in places, and at very high levels, etc. So finding a +2 sword is legendary.

@Lutra_Gaming While i love Greenwood's love for detail, the constant "super high magic" of the setting takes some of the luster. Its not fun when each small hamlet have multiple high level characters living there.
