#NESOutageAlert 5:00 pm
At this hour, approximately 5,000 NES customers are without power due to Friday’s storm and sustained winds of up to 70mph. Roughly 139 NES crews continue to work around the clock in every part of our service area to restore power to all.
NES has restored power for 95% of outages (109,000 customers). For those in small neighborhood clusters or individual homes and businesses, the process will take more time.
NES has identified 160 broken power poles that are in the process of being replaced by crews. Each pole must be reset and re-wired which takes multiple crews and time to replace.
The latest numbers:
• Customers currently without power: 5,277
• Total customers impacted by storm: 115,000
• Customers whose power has already been restored: 109,723
• Total number of broken poles: 160
• Number of crews currently in the field: 139
• Out-of-state crews assisting the effort came from Florida, North Carolina and Georgia.
NES is ceasing disconnections for nonpayment through Thursday for customers.
