Turns out all he had to do is see the dire state of the society he was trying to protect and it's values,which were absent. @burreidheut etymologies. The academies of sciences in both countries should have created a board with the most known and able linguists and start researching deeper into this field. Its a shame we are letting ourselves to the hands of a foreign university.

Mes for example, if it's loaned, is much more likely to be from greek messos*.

@burreidheut Eh l mean the same thing happened to many balkan languages. Greek had them for hundreds of years and replaced them with articles. Same with other langauges around us. Even serbocroatian has merged the dative genitive and locative cases in plural.

However, this is all of course irrelevant in Modern Albanian, since now 1) the dative always requires a linking article as well 2) the locative disappeared and 3) the ablative is at the brink of disappearing as well, technically being a dysfunctional case nowadays.

What is rather peculiar to me about Old Albanian grammar relating to noun cases is, that despite the masculine/neuter singular genitive-dative, ablative and in some instances locative forms having already collapsed and syncretized into the same ending (namely in -it), ... 1/3

According to multiple reports and videos circulating online, today is said to be the day of this festival in the Ozoro community, and girls are wvrned not to go outside. It is alleged that any girl seen outside could be att@ck£d and r@p£d by groups of men. Foreigners who are unaware of this situation have reportedly fallen v!ctim as well. There is Delta state university in Ozoro, and many female students may not be fully aware of the d@nger. It is distvrbing that something like this could be tolerated in society. This is heartbreaking, and urgent action needs to be taken.

Slight correction, there is one (1) Sl*vic loan documented as neuter in Old Albanian: pleh (dung; trash), appearing as plehë,-të.
The fact that it‘s neuter however (and its numerous phonetic varieties across all dialects) points to a very early borrowing.

@balltari28 Iirc, the demise of the neuter gender started very early on, basically right after the dialect split. So the only neuter words were inherited words and Latin/Ancient Greek loans. Slavic loans didn‘t experience this anymore and either ended up as masculine or feminine nouns.

Apple switched iPhone Pro frames from stainless steel (used 2017-2022) to titanium starting with the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023. Main reasons: titanium is about half the weight of stainless steel but equally strong, cutting phone weight by 9-19g (huge on Pro Max). It's also less fingerprint-prone and uses a premium aerospace-grade alloy bonded to recycled aluminum inside. (They went to aluminum in 2025 for even lighter weight + better heat dissipation.)
