@kalezelden I attended and choose to teach at a community college because they matter so much. Every college student should start at a 2-year school. She will save thousands, can change her mind, and will be taught by professors as qualified as those at the university.

Going through the college process right now with daughter #1. As it turns out, college really is a luxury item, with a price tag hovering just south of my total take home pay, even after the fafsa brrr. How do people actually afford to do this? I know plenty of people will chime in here about skipping college & all that, but this is simply not a viable reality. I am trying to get my kids raised in THIS world, not the one I can cook up in my fantasy life. So please skip that. What is nuts is that the colleges have access to all my pertinent financial information. I filled it out for real. And yet...
