@NMNH Archaeologists Ralph and Rose Solecki - who met and married as Columbia Univ. grad students - conducted multiple excavations in Iraq in the 1950s-60s, uncovering 9 Neanderthal skeletons, two Proto-Neolithic sites, and artifacts spanning over 65,000 yrs of human prehistory.
