✍️ The Silent Hawk Whilst Jai Newcombe and Will Day have got a lot of ❤️ and 👏 this season, there’s another Hawthorn midfielder who is putting together an excellent and consistent season, Josh Ward. After only playing the 12 games in 2024, Ward had a much improved 2025, playing 25 games. He averaged just under 21 disposals, 4 tackles, 4 marks & 3 clearances a game and became an important part of the Hawthorn midfield. ⏩ Season 2026. Ward has taken his game to another level, especially in the last 10 weeks, where he has had under 20 disposals only once. His disposal, marks and clearance numbers are up this season and in the last two weeks he’s hit the scoreboard kicking 3 goals. The good news for Hawks fans. Ward is still only 22 years old! The Hawks don’t want to be relying on other results in the last month of the season to finish top 4! @PeterCa22409017 @HawksInsiders Not done for the year but the injury is obviously worse than reported. He’s been a “test” for weeks. He tries to train but either fails to get through or pulls up sore. Very worrying as will likely have to be managed for the rest of the season.
